Ex-LSU QB Ryan Perrilloux (official thread)

I would have to think that LSU is still the "class team" of the SEC West.

I think we tend to overestimate the importance of the QB. Not saying they aren't your most critical player and that a good QB is most often the key to an NC run. However, if Boeckman were to go down (knock on wood) would we abandon our title hopes?

You can run your O in a way that minimizes what you ask of the QB. It absolutely makes you less effective. But if you have a line and some RBs you can put together enough of a passing game with a respectable QB to compete without asking him to shoulder a disproportionates burden.

All provided of course you have one hell of a Defense.

WOW!! Just catching up on this news. My thoughts:
  • Good for Les Miles. Didn't know he had it in him. . . thoughts of tsun and a lost opportunity for a real "Michigan Man" in comparison to who they settled for.
  • Another thug snatching infamy from the jaws of glory.
  • The season opener with App State, who will clearly have the better QB on the field, just got a tad bit more interesting.

Spring 25: Who will be the next Perrilloux?

Stephen Garcia, you're on the clock. Paula Abdul, you too.

The chase for the coveted Perrilloux Award has begun. Now that the former LSU quarterback is history, we might as well start the competition. The Perrilloux -- already nicknamed The Tardy Trophy or The Hippie Lettuce Heisman -- is given annually (starting right now) to the person who most monumentally screws up his/her career.

If you missed it, Ryan Perrilloux unofficially ended spring practice around the country by officially ending his career at LSU. The quarterback with the world at his feet, jumped off a ledge, figuratively, when he was kicked off the team. That is so messed up that Lindsay Lohan was calling Perrilloux with advice.

only IAA ball.

so it must be true then. i heard a rumor that he is going to app state.

i cant wait to see this come back and haunt LSU. they should be careful what they wish for. next year THEY will be the ones with the entire country laughing at them and end up on the wrong end of the "Pontiac Game Changing Performace" of the year. (and because of this i will never EVER buy a pontiac or gm product)

Maybe a tighter nexus to the problem would be to throw away the Michigan gear...

You make it sound like it shouldn't have been the game changing performance of the year. Which I do agree with you.. it's the game changing performance of all time.

I would have to think that LSU is still the "class team" of the SEC West. Yeah, LSU could lose a couple conference games (like Florida & Georgia) and still easily get into the SEC Championship game. And as you said "Anything can happen in Atlanta". See SEC schedule:

2008 SEC Football Composite Schedule Grid

Thanks for the link to the schedule Script'.

I examined the schedule with one question in mind: Which of the Western Division teams have to play BOTH of the Eastern Division teams that would likely be favored over any Western Division opponent in Atlanta (Florida and Georgia). Sorry Fat Fulmer, I'm not buying Tennessee...

Here's what I found:
  • Alabama plays only UGA
  • Arkansas plays only UF
  • Auburn plays only UGA
  • Miss. St. plays NEITHER
  • LSU plays both in the space of three weeks, with Spurrier's Cocks as the meat in that excrement sandwich.
I would still call LSU the favorite, but the schedule-makers did them no favors (conference-wise).

OK: Help me out here. Where are those products made? It's right on the tip of my tongue. I'm thinking that Pontiacs are made in an eponymous town (Meaning: The company name comes from the name of the town); but I can't quite recall the State where that town can be found. What State is that again?

That's something that he supposedly said, but doesn't make much sense. He'd probably sit behind the QB they got now. So if he's going to sit a year, why do it at 1-AA?
Southeastern LA is the colsest to his hometown, Southern would allow him to stay in Baton Rouge, Grambling is probably the best fit.

I think one of these 3 is where he goes (with a fairly strong lean towards Grambling).

That's why they'll be in the running. Croom has that program heading in the right direction (beating AU and Bama last year was HUGE for them). They'll be a nuisance in the West for a while.

Jacksonville State pursuing Perrilloux

Wednesday, May 07, 2008
From staff and wire reports
Jacksonville State coach Jack Crowe has spoken to the family of former LSU quarterback Ryan Perrilloux about a possible transfer to an FCS team with no scholarship quarterbacks on the roster.
Crowe said Tuesday he also had a lengthy discussion with LSU coach Les Miles, who kicked Perrilloux off the defending national championship team after repeated off-the-field problems.

Sorry but people will be laughing at Michigan for some time, you better get used to it. Also our defense can actually defend against speed unlike yours last year so we'll be fine. By the way, who do you guys have slated for QB next year? The equipment manager?
