i cannot wait for this game to be played.
i am tired of the following things:
1. the continual pimping of ND's near win against usc. ASU and Fresno were close to doing the same, they didnt have a bye week to help them. usc played 4 of 5 on the road to open the year as well.
2. nd revisionist history. the loss to msu isnt as bad because msu was good at the beginning of the year, and tanked after the win against ND. however michigan being much better than they were early on, and the fact that they were missing 4 starters against ND is irrelevant.
3. the somehow preconceived notion that tennessee has a much better defense than osu and nd manhandled them. nd had 343 total yards, got 2 td's from defense and special teams, and got the ball twice inside ut's 30. ut was 5-6 with a loss to vandy on the resume.
4. the refusal of the media or anyone that is a fan of nd to accept the fact that the 2 best defenses nd faced held them to an average of 288 ypg, along with an average of 22 offensive ppg.
if osu wins this game, all you will here is how nd is now battle tested and ready for their nc run in 06.
Totally with you and yes, winning at the Shoe is probably the hardest thing to do in college football. It was also a record crowd at the game. Please beat SC for us. I hate those bastards.
Nope, I'm a catholic and am all Buckeye, have been my whole life.
Y'know, reading all of these posts made me realize something. I don't just want Ohio State and Texas to win these games, I want them to pysically punish ND and SC. I don't even know if the final score matters anymore to me as long as there is a W next to our name (and Texas). If it was 31-30, great, as long as Quinn and Lienart are picking their asses up off the ground 20 or 30 times. As long as their teams go home, humbled, sore and broken. I think I may have heard this analogy on this site, but I hope that OSU and Texas' D put a sack of hammers beat down on these weak-ass, no tough competition playing, fraudulent punks who are supposedly the 2 best teams in the history of world.
This what you had in mind for an after game discussion?
"No really. I know he's your brother. But sweetheart, it's what I do for a living. I had my head down and I thought it was Darius. No, really. C'mon, can't we talk about this. By the time next season rolls around you'll never know he had any broken bones. What's losing an inch of height gonna do to his pro prospects? A bit shorter won't hurt at his height. I promise. Look, he's a really strong guy and they heal quickly. Look at Carps. Really, babe, trust me. He won't walk with that limp forever. And he met that really cute nurse. C'mon hon. No, really..."
