Even Garfield knows that...

I am the furthest thing from a wolverine sympathizer trust me, I just think we are taking the comic out of context. Who uses the word wolvering in any poems, Im not sure if any of you read garfield but john is always trying to do things that he is not good at. Garfield is calling john a loser because he is trying to put the word wolverine in a poem. When you look at it like a buckeye fan its hilarious and makes sense. This will go on my fridge im sure of it.

Duh, well thanks for the explanation, Sherlock Holmes. :roll1:

Maybe we should just do away with any sort of hinted humor...

I think John is a loser because he cares so much about either Michigan or the X-man to include it in poem. Perhaps with these artist / writer sorts we have a double entant. We have a gold mine of off season entertainment here. How about a contest to create the poem John was writing:

My love is like a Wolverine,
overhyped and bound to fail.
When I get beat by a better man.
I just cry and wail.

The problem with this poem is that it is self ephasing and doesn't require a ryme with Wolverine.

Leaves are turning color,
autumn is in the air.
My thoughts are always return
to the colour of your hair.

If you turn me down, I'll wear a frown.
From my head down to my toes.
If you turn me down, I will feel my heart explode.

Please don't break my heart, like LLoyd does every year
Some pain just will not go away, even with 10 kegs of beer.

So don't beat me down,
Like a 4th quarter wolverine
I just want some respect
Like a Tressel team.

Of course, that would mean that Garfield was calling John a looser for writing a pro-OSU poem so that doesn't fit in context either. My wife came up with this one.

Your hair is a gorgous brown,
not like a mousy brown
perhaps like a wolverine.
Your eyes are a nice color too,
I think there blue or maybe green

She also says I have to get off the computer now and stop wasting time.
