ESPN Monday Night Football Team (MERGED)

That's an interesting team, to say the least. I generally like Tirico, depending on who he's paired with. If he's with a more even keel kind of guy, he's a nice emotional spark.

Thiesman is a moron. He has a hard time focusing on the game longer than a quarter or two before talking about some other random bullshit. I hate listening to him and Paul McGuire in the same booth.

Kornheiser is the wild card of the crew. I generally enjoy him on PTI, so he could be alright. As long as he isn't being brought in to be the "loud mouth" of the team, I think he'll be pretty good.

At least one of the team isn't named Dennis Miller........

I also like Tirico - he has a great knowledge of the rules, which separates him from most announcers.

I'm OK with Kornheiser. (I'm missing the Dookie thing, he has said he went to Binghamton College).

Theismann is worthless. He just likes to hear himself talk. Plus, he's a Domer.

Kornheiser likes the Yankees, Dook, anybody that is "good for the game". It's not to the point where you hate him for it because he usually keeps it to himself. I liked him on the radio and I like him on PTI.....if he's not on to counter Wilbon's blatent stupidity then I can't watch the show.

He might be out of his element on MNF though. I think he was offered the job when they gave it to Dennis Miller but he turned it down, although I could just be making that up.

I gotcha. I hate that 'good of the game' crap.

He really means that he likes any team that makes it easy for him to write articles about, and that a lot of people want to read about. So he doesn't have to do any real reporting.

exactly. everybody who is "good for the game" pisses me off, because people actually believe that so they try as hard as they can to make it so the yankees, dook, ND, tiger are always on top.

<table border="0"><tbody><tr><td valign="top"><input name="vote_0" value="147512" type="radio"></td><td valign="top">Yes</td></tr><tr><td valign="top"><input name="vote_0" value="147513" type="radio"></td><td valign="top">No</td></tr></tbody></table><center><input value="Submit Vote" type="submit"></center></td></tr> </tbody></table> </form></td></tr></tbody></table>Mike Tirico, Joe Theismann and Tony Kornheiser will be part of a three-man booth calling the games on Monday nights next season and Suzy Kolber and Michelle Tafoya will be sideline reporters. Kolber and Tafoya both reported from the sidelines for ABC during Super Bowl XL."I'm just thrilled to be the next person to take the greatest franchise in television sports history forward," Tirico said on ESPN Radio Wednesday morning.
Also, ESPN announced that Mike Breen will be its new lead NBA play-by-play announcer, teaming with analyst Hubie Brown for ABC telecasts beginning Feb. 12 and including the NBA Finals.
"This Monday Night Football team enthusiastically embraces our vision for sports television's signature series. We will propel MNF into a 21st century, all-day, exclusive, multi-media event that will engage fans in entirely new ways. This team will develop great chemistry," ESPN Executive Vice President John Skipper said.
"Mike Breen is widely respected for his depth of NBA knowledge and his consummate play-by-play skill. We are very excited to provide such a spectacular forum as the NBA Finals to showcase his talents."
In addition, Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon will take Pardon The Interruption on the road on Mondays during the football season. The shows will air from the site of ESPN's Monday Night Football games.
"We look to the future with great enthusiasm and a strong commitment to enhance the presentation of the NFL and the NBA, two of our most important sports properties," ESPN and ABC Sports President George Bodenheimer said.
Al Michaels, the play-by-play voice of Monday Night Football on ABC from 1986 through Sunday's Super Bowl in Detroit, will not return to either broadcast.

Tirico is a douche. How can anyone tolerate him after the 10-minute lambasting he gave our program during the Alamo Bowl? News flash, token boy, there's a football game going on...call the fucking game!

Theisman really knows his stuff, he just can't communicate it well enough. He just doesn't have the announcer type voice, either.

Kornholer is a total fucking windbag. He looks like the derelict neighbor's pedophile uncle...
