ESPN Gameday season preview

why am i not surprised that the 2 dumbest picks were from the dumbest person on the set. they should get the fat ass who holds the cue cards to replace mark may.

I seriously just don't like his stupid arrogant ass. He could pick OSU in every game and I would still hate him. He's just stupid.
Mark May picked Michigan State to win the Big 10 in 2002. MSU is my second favorite team, so it's a little hard for me to post this, but here are MSU's losses that year:
Cal 46-22
ND 21-17
Iowa 44-16
Minny 28-7
Wiscy 42-24
scUM 49-3
Pud 45-42
PSU 61-7
Mark May is a fucking genius. His reason for picking them....they didn't play tOSU and they had ND, Wiscy and Pud at home.
Mark May is possibly dumber than Skip Bayless.

I think Trev picked Virginia Tech over SC...
Yeah, I wasn't sure of his NC pick, for a couple of reasons.

My secretarial skills suck - I can't listen and type at the same time.
I have to really concentrate to pretend that I care what Trev or Mark May says.

Wow, three pages to this thread now, and nobody has yet mentioned how retarded May and Alberts both were at the very end of the show, when they were arguing with Herbie over how many undefeated teams there were. May said he thought there would be six, as did Alberts (I think). I am pretty sure May mentioned USC, Texas, Louisille, Va Tech, LSU, and Michigan, I think. Herbie just laughed his ass off.

Also, I was shocked when May basically said that Herbie was a homer for picking OSU to win it all. Give me a break...Herbie responded with typical class, pointing out that in all the years he has been doing Gameday, this is the first time he has picked tOSU to win the NC.

For myself, like Mili, I'm wondering where all those Herbie-bashers are now...

I saw that too... it seemed like Trevie turned into a 12 year at that point. I'm suprised he didn't tell him "my dad can beat up your dad"

I agree that the returning talent is obviously the biggest part of it, but I was shocked, to say the least. I wasn't really expecting 2 out of 4 ESPN analysts to pick the Buckeyes - especially when the media's wet-dream of a football team (USC, in case that wasn't obvious) has some much offensive talent returning from last year.

I loved when Trev says, "Do we forget how bad this (Ohio States) offense was at he begining of last season" and then Herby goes off on him saying all the WR etc. 4 5 wide sets etc. The look on Trev's face was priceless... it was as if he had no idea that OSU was more than TGII.

May's picks were typical - I don't really research this stuff, who is everyone else high on? USC and Texas? Oh. OK. Thems my picks.

Herby once again proved to be the best of the bunch (and, as most of you know, I'd even say that even if he didn't pick OSU)

No Airtime

When we had 50% of the panel picking us to win it all, how did we get no actual airtime during the show? We had a quick mention of Ginn for Heisman, some fodder about stepping up to schedule Texas (although that was directed at other AD's to do the same), but that was it.

Nobody picked Texas to win, yet there was plenty about them. USC got the most of time (rightfully so). But we got no mention of our talent till the end.

I can't imagine there is any talking-head I hate in the world more than Trev. It is not just his hatred for the Bucks. The guy is just an idiot. There is no other way to describe it. Just an idiot with a high-profile job.

Either they want to sound clever, or they assume that USC's defense is not on a par with its highly touted offensive squad.

I saw the replay of the show this morning too, and a couple things jumped out at me:

1) What the hell was that shit on May's face?
2) If Herbie and Corso could have had thought bubbles above their heads I think they would have been saying: "what the hell are these guys doing on gameday?" The usual gameday staff looked quite annoyed that may and alberts were there.
3) Herbie, Corso, and Fowler are a great trio.

Yeah, that totally makes up for what was said last year regarding the Clarett allegations just b/c Herbie picked us to win it all on some dopey preview show. Intelligent.
What did Herbstreit ever say about the allegations? He made a comment about the offense but never said anything about the allegations or the program.

Revenge is a dish best served cold.

The sweetest possible revenge, for the irrational hatred that has-beens Trev Albert and Jackie-Sherrill-boy Mark May (and others at ESPiN) have been showing tOSU, would be an undefeated NC season, culminating with an upset win over USC in the 'Grand Daddy' Bowl.

Icing on the cake of an NC season would be watching these losers eat crow next January. It will take a few months, but when it happens it will be sweet!
