Sorry for stating the obvious, but other than USC, the teams above us all play each other and we, of course, play #7. Each of the winners of these match-ups has the potential to lose another game. Georgia will definitely drop one to Florida, for instance. I like the way this poll shapes up for us. As usual, if we're undefeated going into the Game, we're right in the NC hunt.

What I think is great is on Sept 6, Miami has to play FSU.......both their season openers. Wonder how they feel about actually playing a tough schedule from here on out. Another team we all know we wont have to worry about is the perrenial chokers TEXAS.

yeah, 8th is about right for them. They'll get up to 2 by beating weak teams 65-0 the first few weeks, lose the 2 games that matter most on their schedule to drop to about 12-14, and then beat up on some jabronies from the WAC in a Bowl game 66-3 to vault back up to 8.

I like the idea. We seem to play better at the beginning of the season when we have something to prove. Even if we lose, we could easily comeback and make a run for the national championship since it's so early for a loss.

But if you lose its now to a conference foe. You are then left hoping they lose twice in the ACC(assuming they can run the non-conf slate). After the Nebraska '01 fiasco its going to be tough to play for a NC if you don't even win your conference.
