My wife calls me this morning at work and sounds awful. She tells me she fell down the stairs and thinks she broke her arm. I came home and took her in. Fortunately, it is only a crushed arm (never heard that term before).

Between my younger son and my wife, my family is averaging a trip to the ER every 2.5 months at this point (4 trips the last 10 months). For the love of God, I would just like to stay out of ANY ER for the next six months.

Oh yeah, she is on Vicadin (sp?) and it is pretty funny.

Hopefully your back doesn't lead you to the ER next!!

With an ER history like that, I'd be expecting a visit from ODJFS sometime soon and literature soon arriving at your house about domestic abuse.

The doctor came in the room after he read the X-Rays and said it was a crushed arm. He had a security guy with him. I figured we were going to get a few questions, but he never said a word.

My younger son is now recognized when he goes to local children's hospital. He's a charmer so they all remember him. He is happy even when he has blood coming out of his head.

We have one, thanks. Every visit has been legit. My wife (RN, BSN, MSN, NP) even called the doc first today and he referred her to the ER. On two of the other visits my son needed stitches or staples.

Maybe we should find another PCP since our's only has 30+ years of experience? Or maybe I should not trust my wife's experience, which includes nearly two decades of Med/Surg and several years of teaching for a local university.

By the way, the ER doc thought her arm was broken until he saw the X-Rays.

Just because she'll be drugged up tonight, don't think you can try some sexual deviation that she wouldn't ordinarily take part in.

But now I've got you thinking, don't I? :wink2:

I can't add much to the other advice offered, but I'd definitely keep the life insurance paid up.

We've found walk in clinics that will do stitches at an appreciably less cost and time than ER. Plus by moving around, the authorities won't catch on to you as quick.

I just make sure we are fully stocked with super glue at all times... it works wonders! Talk about efficiency, we never have to schedule a follow up apt for suture removal...
