Now, I know this isn't a BP problem, but a browser problem with me..

My Gooogle Chrome recently updated, and now emoticons any any forums won't work for me, they have the picture but they don't move, anyone know of a way to fix that?

Strike that, it works on one forum I post on...but not working on here or the Scout forums

ok, now i'm not sure it's just smiley's...

starting to thin it might be .gif's in general, been seeing a lot of frozen gifs on forums..

I don't know what the hell is going on, screw you chrome, I might uninstall then reinstall chrome

blah, been using Firefox the past week hoping this will get fixed..I dunno why it's broken in Chrome all of a sudden...

man I hate using Firefox, so freaking slow

For what it's worth, I see some animated gif issues (only in Chrome) as well. Not just on BP (as you reported). There are several conversations about it on the Chrome support forums, mostly focused on big sites like Pinterest.

Hopefully it will be resolved soon. I did some poking around here just to make sure it wasn't us (despite the fact that they work fine in all other browsers and it's not BP-specific) but everything seemed kosher. That's not to say that it can't have something to do with us, but if it does I'm at a complete loss (they're just images, they're being served properly, they're fine in other browsers, Apache is fine, etc.)

Either way, you're not alone in seeing some gif problems in Chrome.

For me, they tend to play just fine (like the kid above slapping his monitor when Sandusky appears) until I scroll away. Then they freeze on whatever frame was last and remain stuck. I'm *not* a tech type, but it definitely seems (to a tech idiot) to be some sort of rendering issue with the browser.

yea, that's what i've noticed, they load fine, then it stops...

I know it's not BP since everything works fine on Firefox, thanks for checking though. Hoping someone may know the issue, but just sounds like something Google screwed up on

I was having the same problem until I started using the AdBlock on Chrome. Not sure how that would help gifs from freezing, but I was having the same exact problem. I installed AdBlock and haven't had a problem since.
