The cash and store system has been upgraded, it's several generations removed from the version we were running before, so while it's essentially the same system, there are some significant changes and bug fixes.

Most noteworthy is there's now a section in your UserCP that allows you to define some settings for it.

You can also now purchase 'cause' ribbons, as well as team logos to show your colors in the NFL, NBA, MLB, etc.

It's a bit more intuitive, and offers better info (like when the next interest will hit and for how much).

Additionally, there's now a "donate" button on people's post-bit. I'll probably rename that to not confuse with our fundraising drives, but that link is to send a bit of cash to someone else. Sort of a tangible extension of "nice post", etc.
 
Please list any bugs or odd activity from the latest Upgrade. I, or any Sr Mod/Admin, can/will add them to this list. Thanks.

• eBux Interest
Interest is acruing way too fast. I was earning almost 200 dollars per hour! It was set at 2% every 2 days (172,800 seconds). I just changed it to .1% and weekly (604,800 seconds) to slow things down for now. Let's see if that changes anything. Additionally, I was under the impression that interest was awarded on a certain date (every 2 days I guess), but it was being compounded in real time today. This could also be tied to a system "multiplier" that is set incorrectly (X amount of points for a post/thread/response/view/etc/etc.)

• Lottery
Both the daily and weekly lotteries were "hit" 5 or 6 time today alone. I turned that feature off for now. I think the dates (for drawing) were set incorrectly.

• vbPlaza
Several reports of items/option being unavilable for use/purchase (bank/donate/ribbons/icons/etc.). Currently everything seems to be working (for me anyway) with the exception of "Give Gifts". It is currently out of stock and will restock itself at the set interval (July 25th I believe).

• Database Errors
Multiple reports of error messages, generally a "white screen" database error with a request to "refresh" your browser. No rhyme or reason (pattern) to these errors.

I have no direct access to purchase these icon within the vbPlaza. As an admin I have found a work around, but I doubt anyone else with this problem will be able to use that route to purchase these icons.

You know, I had a good thing going there for a second. I just entered the daily one assuming I would be the only one and it would be a easy win. Then I saw that I won almost instantly, and I saw your earlier post. So I went for the weekly and another daily.

You blew it man! I had the perfect system going there.

I think I've got this one figured out. Jelsoft is aware of a bug in 5.0.21 and 5.0.22 that would/could cause the problems we're seeing. Has something to do with certain types of queries sent from the forum to the database. Reverting to 5.0.20 could be a complete fix, and I have some new settings to apply as well that they gave me. I'm trying to get a hold of Blair in AZ to see if he could get back into the machine and downgrade MySQL to the "safe" version. No ETA on this yet.

In the meantime, while they're annoying, they're also completely harmless. Just hit reload, and what you're trying to get or do will load through fine.

Yay for buggy MySQL "stable" releases.

I'm a bit confused by this one. I see people buying sports icons, are people not able to buy them here?

I know there's a permissions issue for a few user groups, and I'm trying to sort that out now.

In terms of the lottery, I think we're going to scrap that all-together. It's clunky and pointless. If there's an easy way to reverse lottery winnings, I might. At least those from the days since the most recent upgrades until 3y disabled it.

In regards to interest, not sure what's going on there. Going to look into it, but "frivolous" issues like vbPlaza settings are taking a decided back seat (of course) to the core server and site performance issues. So I may not get to this today or tomorrow.

I'm also working on salvaging the long-lost articles, and implementing a brand new system (GARS) for that, as well as retrieving the old award/medal data, and implementing a new one (YAAS) for that as well.

Also, the arcade has been updated to a current version, which brings it online with the new implementation of "pay to play". 5 points per play, zero impact on real members of our community, including those who don't post, but are genuine members of the site (RLC, etc.) -- but hopefully a preventative measure against outside party abuse.

Also, I'm aware that the MySQL problems are mangling the accuracy of "Who's Online". That is only showing who is on since the last error, because of the way the database is misbehaving.

For example, it's claiming to me that there are 5 members and 15 guests online. Which is true since the last error/reset about 12 seconds ago. The truth is that there are just over 100 members and around 240 guests online right now.

So hopefully this will be fixed with the MySQL rollback as well.

I still can't access anything in the vbPlaza that deals with vBux (lottery, gifts, ribbons, bank, donate, thief). I can, and always have been able to, access the remaining three areas, which are strictly info queries (richest users, history, most sold). I know I pm'd you, grad, and 3yac earlier about this, but since we now have a admin thread on this, maybe others are experiencing exactly the same thing...

Okay, I think I've found a fix for the errors issue, that will allow me not to have MySQL rolled back to 5.0.20.

If you encounter any mysql/site errors (white screens) after I post this message, please let me know here. I've been browsing around, and haven't found any myself.
