Honestly, might make the conference kinda fun to watch again outside 3 teams. I'm more than ok with how we turned out at QB, frankly feel blessed having Air instead. Almost like "losing" Martell because Fields was coming in from a locker room perspective.

Now for Dylan personally, gotta wonder about that decision as a QB.

2023 National Signing Day: Matt Rhule believes top QB Dylan Raiola's heart 'always was here at Nebraska'

Nebraska never gave up on recruiting Dylan Raiola, the top quarterback in the Class of 2024. But Cornhuskers coach Matt Rhule admitted that he wasn't anticipating the news he received a few days ago from the star prospect, who flipped his commitment from Georgia to Nebraska before officially signing with the Cornhuskers on Wednesday.

"It was really not something that I expected," Rhule said Wednesday in an interview with Josh Pate on the 247Sports YouTube channel. "I got a call last weekend that, 'Hey coach, I think I want to come be a Husker.'"
.
.
.
"The recruiting process for him, to me, I think is a little different," Rhule said of Raiola. "I think that probably his heart always was here at Nebraska. A lot of things have happened at Nebraska in recent years. He just kind of went through the course of this year, saw the progress that we made, saw the way that we did things. In the end, he wanted to come visit and wanted to be one of us."

Just sayin': Yeah, it probably was. He should be a good fit at corn too. Hey, he's not in the portal; but he's potentially better than most the QBs that are in the portial.....so you have to wonder how much of that "good QB" money he's getting...

Matt Rhule: A good QB in the portal costs $1 million to $2 million

Nebraska coach Matt Rhule talks about the average cost of a good quarterback in the transfer portal and discusses how the Cornhuskers will approach things.

Which baffles me why analysts kept fighting for him to stay at #1. Yes, he has a college ready body, and has a cannon for an arm. But his stats haven't been out of this world and it doesn't look like any of his teammates are hurt emotionally when he leaves. Sounds to me like a kid feasting on HS talent, because he has more god given tangibles. But IMO, Sayin and Noland look WAY better than Raiola. And on the low, you can possibly even throw DJ Lagway over him too

Dylan Raiola Receives Big Ten Freshman of the Week Award Over Jeremiah Smith After Two-Touchdown Debuts for Both

148778_h.jpg

Jeremiah Smith’s two-touchdown debut wasn’t enough for him to earn Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors.

Smith was denied the award in favor of former Ohio State commit Dylan Raiola, who earned the first Big Ten Freshman of the Week award of the season after completing 19 of 27 passes for 238 yards and two touchdowns in Nebraska’s 40-7 win over UTEP.

Raiola became just the second Nebraska true freshman quarterback to start a season opener since World War II, joining Adrian Martinez, who started Nebraska’s 2018 season opener against Colorado. The Cornhuskers scored touchdowns on five of his eight drives in their season opener; he played just one drive in the second half before exiting the game with Nebraska already holding a 37-7 lead.
