Dwight Howard (NTTAWWT)

I can't stand kobe, but he made the most sense in regards to people wooing Howard to come play for them. basically saying he isn't going to beg somebody to come play for the Lakers.
I think a lot of Laker fans share this this sentiment as well - they're embarrassed the organization has stooped to this level to try and woo Howard back, what with all the billboards and such.

Source: Dwight Howard now 50-50

Dwight Howard landed in Los Angeles on Friday evening and contacted the Lakers, telling them he is 50-50 on his decision to sign with either them or the Houston Rockets, according to a source.

Howard's call to the Lakers came hours after a person from his camp informed the team that he would not re-sign with Los Angeles, according to the source.

"He changed his mind," the source said. "Hey, he's Dwight. What can you say."

The source said Howard had a possible change of heart because of the extra $30 million he would be leaving on the table if he signs with Houston.

Despite multiple reports of Howard's decision, Rockets general manager Daryl Morey tweeted Friday evening that nothing is official yet.

This time it's for real: Howard set on joining Rockets

Dwight Howard is Houston-bound, after all.

Howard confirmed his decision on Twitter.

?I?ve decided to become a member of the Houston Rockets,? Howard wrote in a Twitter post. ?I feel it?s the best place for me and I am excited about joining the Rockets and I?m looking forward to a great season. I want to thank the fans in Los Angeles and wish them the best.?

Following an afternoon filled with reports that the free-agent center had decided to sign with the Houston Rockets and just needed to work out the details, he briefly backtracked on that decision Friday night and flew from Colorado to Los Angeles to meet with Lakers GM Mitch Kupchack one last time, according to FOX Sports' Bill Reiter.

Dwight Howard, one of the top free agent prizes in the class of 2013, confirmed Friday he will sign with the Rockets rather than re-sign with the Lakers.

I think you'd be surprised at how any payers would accept the league minimum just to win a championsip

Idiot. No team will be able to afford 3 max deals under the new CBA. If all of the "Big 3" in Miami wanted to stay in Miami after next season it still wouldn't happen because it's impossible to carry 3 max contracts unless you have 3x the salary cap to throw at payroll. They even took less than the max to get it to work under the old CBA.

If you are over the cap you still wouldn't be able to bring in any roll players for anything other than the league min. The best Houston could do would be to find a Ray Allen type player that used to be a max deal type of player but is willing to take the min to win a title. If Howard signed in Houston they might be able to get a couple of those.

This is also a stupid question to ask a team that just cut or traded everyone they could in order to get under the cap enough to sign Howard. Where the hell are they going to get more money under the cap to sign someone else? I knew Howard was a baby, but I didn't know he was mentally retarded as well.

Yeah, but most of those guys are "over the hill, has beens" like Juwan Howard (played with the Heat a few years). They won't get very many "up and coming good young players" for that.

I don't think the players union would allow it either. Something about having to take the contract you are worth, or close to it. They are not going to let a player who could be making 20 million a year sign a contract for 2 million per year.
