what if.. the staff believed AJ Hawk was no more than a 3-star recruit...

hindsight is generally 20-20
but driving at 100 mph and only looking in the rear view mirror doesn't work very well

What if IN ADDITION to AJ we had actually landed Carpenter and D'Andrea?! And what if, stay with me here, we had talked that guy at Air Force, you know, the one who was a captain of the team as a Sophomore, (name like Schlegel or something like that) what if we had talked him into transferring to Ohio State?! Now I know that would've created a real log-jam at LB, so what if one of them got injured just enough to win an appeal and come back next year? Man that would've been one of the best linebacking corps EVER.

It's nice to dream.

There's a difference between worrying and wondering.

We can all agree that if one event happens, then it changes things in ways we can't even begin to consider. It's called the Butterfly Effect, and it's more than just a movie about a guy who can't find his car. Wait.. that was another movie. Anyway, the point is that if you go back in time, don't beat up any dinosaurs, because it may make it possible for Nazis to take over the world.

Where was I going with this? I don't know.

Anyway, some people like to play the "what if" game, and others don't. No one's arguing the relevency to the here and now that any of these scenarios can have. But some people need more intellectual stimulation than "I wonder what Troppo's Bad Day is going to be..."

Yeah. "For those about to rock" was stuck in my head and I thought it would be funnier to say that AC/DC wouldn't be on the radio than to be predictable and say that the Beatles wouldn't be on the radio. Now put the broken beer bottle down, sit down slowly, and I'll order the next round..

Australia is just England Jr. You know, like Canada is America Jr, and France is just.. well, France just sucks. And who's to say that, without England, the United States wouldn't have been able to attack the Western German front, keeping Germany from rolling right through Russia? With Russia down, Germany maybe could have stopped America from sweeping through northern Africa. America, knowing that Germany would be virtually unstoppable if they won the Middle East, would have diverted more of their troops from the Pacific, allowing Japan to take Australia. AC/DC's father, Mr. Frederick DC, would have died trying to stop the Japanese invasion, and AC never would have been born.

So, in a way, we're both right. But in another way, which is more right, neither of us is right. Except, maybe you're still right, because whichever way we look at it, they're still Australian.
