Who?? I have been very vocal that I think coach Luke is in over his head, but I saw a team fight to the end today.....never one sign of quitting on this staff.
RB Carlos Hyde said he thought OSU should have run more is to plays to negate backside blitz.

Hyde said he told the coaches they should change up what they were doing, but obviously they didn't listen.

Jordan Hall said they practice screens and misdirection, but the coaches didn't use it today.

Christian Bryant on the offense ?Defense fought all game. We can?t do anything else. Offense is on scholarship too. Make a couple plays."

I know I've been sounding a drumbeat since the Toledo game, but I think coach is in over his head. You almost want to grant the poor guy mercy. We have been out-coached in every game this year with the exception of Akron and Colorado. I know coach Fickell accepted this challenge, a commendable deed at the least, but this program needs more experience at this point. If we could keep the defense and rebuild the offense, I'm game. It's not a likely scenario, so I think it's time to blow it up and start over.

I'm sorry to be blunt, but I am just saying what most of the fanbase is probably thinking right now. It seems like he is losing this team; they look shell-shocked.

I see a lot of players very frustrated with the coaching staff right now

A Hyde recent tweet: "Coach Tress."

These from http://twitter.com/#!/BCastOZone

After talking to a number of players after the game, I get the sense this OSU team is coming apart at the seems.

Lot of frustration in the OSU locker room right now. Probably some finger-pointing. Certainly some people looking at Fickell.

If the players aren't happy with the play calling and coaching...I hope its a full on, team-wide dislike or solidarity, because having a rift between the players based on coaches is an ugly thing. I'd rather see the players united on a feeling, positive or negative, than see them split down the middle.

Yikes, not sounding good at all.

Most inexperienced OSU coach in my lifetime - by a margin.

Listen to Fickell's pressers and you can hear the learning going on. But he has so far to go. Unfair to all involved.

My heart sank when I heard on the radio that the person "in the business" to whom Fickell speaks most frequently is - Mark Dantonio. You don't out coach that person.

Dantonio had the perfect plan for a rattling a true Frosh - blitz till his eyes roll.

Still, when 6 are coming on most every play somebody is open.

When Bauserman came in we had 106 yards total offense. After three more series we were at 86. We started rolling up yards when Dantonio made adjustments - not us.

Nine penalties - 7 on the offense. Nine sacks. The vast majority of our problems on one side of the ball.

Frosh QB? Yep. But we have four on the roster, three of whom were highly rated. Eleven completions in the two weeks prior to this game. And today almost a goose egg.

We almost lost to Toledo and soundly beat two teams who have a combined record of 2-8. JT scored less than ten points 5 times in 10 years. We have done it twice in three weeks (to teams who are 4-3 when not playing Ohio State). We have played a game where we did not complete a pass to a receiver. On paper this is RR futility.

You can talk about senior leadership. You can talk about missing players. You can talk about inexperience. You can make arguments to let the coaches off the hook. But you can't build an argument that says this staff is getting the job done. Ohio State is not where you come to learn how to coach.

I agree that Fickell is in an unfair position and you wont see much bashing from me beyond this post. It is what it is.

In the end it will take care of itself. Just buckle up for a rough ride (Nebraska is pissed, Wisconsin is sick and like it or not Michigan is back).

But know that the talent is there for an instant turn around in 2012 - under the right coach.

What the hell are seems? Are they worse than seams? I already am wondering if the team is going to implode. I don't need to worry about seems.

I still support Fickell. I am not going to pass judgement until after the UM Game or if the team unravels before then. Even Tressel would have been having some troubles with the personal he has to work with, I suspect. He probably would be at 4-0 right now though, because he was a seasoned coach who knew his shortcomings and USUALLY made enough adjustments to win a game with what he had.

Again, that the point? Shouldn't OSU ALWAYS have a seasoned coach who knows his shortcoming and makes adjustments? You don't come to OSU to get your seasoning.

I am in this boat as well. I know that he's a perfect story for the program, but it's not working.

Fickell's biggest problem is not knowing anything about offense and relying on Bollman to run the show. That alone is going to sink his HC career (season).

The situation before the season even started would have sunk alot of head coaches. There are not too many coaches out there that could have dealt with this situation perfectly. No win for Fick...Too many major issues to deal with to have any type of success.
