DT/OL Evan Blankenship (Official Thread)

As I mentioned early on in this thread I have a bit of a family connection to Evan. Well....a close relative of mine was with Evan last night and just called me with an update.

I was told he was in OSU gear and that he is really pumped about OSU.

Out of respect to Evan I won't divulge the details (this is his story to tell, not mine) but I will summarize and say it looks REALLY, REALLY good for OSU.

Also he has absolutely NOT verballed (as we all already knew...but Evan was aware that ESPN message boards jumped the gun).

This isn't done...Evan is a smart kid with good people around him and he will find the place that is best for him. However, I think it might be time to start warming up the bananas.....it was a VERY pro OSU discussion.

The rest of the update was that he is just a GREAT kid...respectful of the opportunity and really has a good head on his shoulders. Oh, and that he is freakin' massive!

Great update HINYG8... Thanks a bunch...

So, is it probable that the dancing bananas need to limber up for a June 23rd performance?

Seems reasonable but to be clear that was not stated by him.

I hope I can get it to him through the family grapevine to post here....I would LOVE for him to share his thoughts on his ND visit with the board..but lets just say:

:oh: :io:

The longer he waits I dont. I keep hearing here, and from a few other "sources", that he's Ohio State's to lose but then I keep reading he's "torn."

I think the longer he waits mean the more thought he's giving Pitt, and letting those instate people sway his decision. I may be reading too much into this though.

No, that's a good point. I still think he'll see OSU has more to offer but you never know.

Evan is camping today at Michigan, and tomorrow at Pitt. He is leaving Thursday to come to tOSU, with his mother coming along. They plan on staying here for a couple of days, and Evan will participate in camp on the 23rd. Evan says he will not go to any more camps after tOSU's. Blankenship says that he will probably decide in August.

JMO: Mom coming to town with him, staying here for a couple of days, no more camps after... The bananas should start limbering up...

It is really starting to seem like he is truly torn. I thought he was just saying that to string his recruitment along. This one could get more interesting than we all originally thought.

I think the fact he's been seen wearing Ohio State gear is a most pleasing plus.....I was as skeptcal as you, but after reading what some have written here [and privately to me] I wouldn't worry too much.:wink2: :osu:

Without question they'd accept unless, as crazy pointed out, they saw something to turn them off when he camped here.

Evan has camped at OSU several times....the staff is very familiar with EB's abilities. I wouldn't worry about OSU being 'surprised' in a negative way about EB, the staff knows what he is about and def. wants him in S&G.

I am surprised to hear he is waiting until August, but I have not heard anything that indicates he is cooling on OSU.

I will be visiting with the family connection over the 4th, I'll pry for info, but out of respect to Evan and my family I will only pass along news I am comfortable won't bother Evan should he read the board.
