DT Doug Worthington (Official Thread)

I really can't see him heading down to Alabama. It's a completely different way of life down there. I'm also still under the impression that his family is pulling for OSU as well.

I'd be much more worried if it was a school closer to home trying to sway him (ND, PSU maybe) than Bama. Worthington's a Buckeye.

not to be a downer or a dreaded BNer here, but this situation is similiar to that of stanley mcclover's. i recall reading right before mcclover's annoucement, over on bn, when it was still decent, that players don't hold press conferences when they are sticking to their original school of commitment. that being said, i still believe worthington is a buckeye. none of the quotes that i have read or alan has written, lead me to believe otherwise.

The comparison is pretty ironic, given what Doug has said throughout his recruitment and the remarks I've seen from HH about McClover's switch to Auburn.

I know one thing, switching to Alabama, while citing "problems" at Ohio State would be a real kick in the groin.

Losing Doug, to me, would be a huge, huge blow to this class.
This kid I am more excited about than any other recruit (except Boone).
Lets just hope Tress stays on his case, and that news leaks before signing day,
as I dont think I can wait that long.

He looks like he could be another WIll SMith type of player. We really missed that from last season.

Doug maintains to Bill Kurelic that unless something changes, he's 100% committed to Ohio State. Although he doesn't say what could possibly change, it seems as if he's referring to sanctions. This article is much more positive than the one written by the 'Bama fan. It seems as if 9/10 articles have that exact quote from Doug, and the ones that don't get us up in arms.
Also, if Doug were to change his verbal then I can't see him announcing like that. Seems like top good for a kid to string a school along for so long and then suddenly switch. If things changed, that's different, but he seems like a Buckeye, for sure.
