I'm confident that Mr. Worthington signs with us, but I'm interested to see what the other coaches are trying to use to make him reconsider.. its BN premium
They keep telling him of "inside info" they have...players driving Lexuses around campus and such. He isn't buying into it...

Is Tres going to be offered the AD job?

He took the bullet proof vest right off of them and they’re just shooting away. But I’m not really worried about it though. I’ll be signing with Ohio State unless something happens before then.”

This kid seems extremely intelligent. He will be a great one for the Bucks. Now that I think about it, it was a really intelligent move to offer JT the AD job. Im glad he didn't take it though because I want him to concentrate on football, lol.

Slim Numbers Here For Recruiting Visits (Doug Worthington) - AM850 (Florida)

Slim Numbers Here For Recruiting Visits
January 14, 2005 08:08 AM

Partly because of the U.S. Army All Star game being played this weekend, there won't be many high school football players making official visits to the University of Florida this weekend.

Expected to visit are defensive lineman Doug Worthington from New York; offensive lineman Simon Codrington from Miami, and offensive lineman Duke Robinson from Atlanta.

It remains to be seen exactly how many players Florida will sign given the changes in the coaching staff at Florida and the departure of recruiting coordinator Mike Locksley right in the middle of the recruiting season.

Most people who follow recruiting know that Florida's biggest needs are at linebacker, offensive line, and at defensive back.

The Gators have a nice starting unit at linebacker but there are serious depth issues at the position. On the offensive line, there are a lot of bodies now but four graduated in 2004 and players like Mike DeGory and Randy Hand will graduate in 2005 so there is a need here. In the secondary, depth is an issue at safety behind two excellent players in Kyle Jackson and Tony Joiner and there are many questions at cornerback in terms of who will start and having quality backups as well.

National signing day is February second.

Lost Weekend (Doug Worthington) - Scout

Lost Weekend
By Kirk McNair**
Date: Jan 16, 2005

Running back Mikell Simpson of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, visited Florida this weekend. The Gators had not been in the picture for Simpson, but now may rank among the top three (with Alabama, his previous leader, and Virginia). Also visiting Florida was defensive end Doug Worthington of Athol Springs, New York, who is committed to Ohio State, but looking around (including at Bama last weekend) since the Buckeyes are possibly headed for NCAA trouble. (We would say SURELY headed for NCAA trouble except for the NCAA’s long history of ignoring violations by Big Ten schools.)

Said he is enjoying all these visits even though he didn't want to go on them, but is still a Buck and is just doing this "in-case something happens". Had a great time in Florida and he may or may not trip to Boston College or Penn State. Coch Meyer didn't bad mouth us (probably the first coach to do so).

That Coach Meyer, he sounds like a stand-up guy.
