Heacock Says Defensive Front Looks Improved in 2008 Despite the Loss of Gholston

The return of Wilson, the emergence of Gibson and the depth provided by Johnson at defensive end will also allow Heacock to bolster his interior by using Heyward a little on the inside as well.

"We?ll move him around a little but like Kenny Peterson and Darrion Scott," said Heacock.

"We?ll play him at end. That will be his primary spot but we can certainly throw him inside on nickel downs like we did Kenny and Scott."

Cont'd ...

Vernon Gholston highlight vid but watch Cam at the 1:18 and 2:57 mark and tell me that's not a future 1st round draft choice. Unbelievable strength for a true freshman.

Dude--was that Jake Long that Cam drove onto his back at the 2:57 mark???!?!?!?

I think so, but couldn't tell for sure. I was at least hoping it wasn't Justin Boren :)

Not sure which plays you and Oregon' are talking about; or if they're the same one.

But there was definitely a play in scUM game, and yes it was in the video, where Gholston beat The-Human-Turnstyle (Schilling: according to HtM) and knocked Henne down immediately after the throw. Cam Heyward then finishes off his bull-rush of Jake Long by pushing the #1 pick over the fallen quarterback.

Newsflash: OSU's defensive ends might be pretty good in 2008.

Getting paid to do something else but instead surfing BP all day.

By that definition, I'm working today.

I hate waiting for input that never seems to come on time. Maybe the input never comes because the people who are supposed to produce it are also "working".

Anyway, I believe you have discerned why I could not be more specific about the point in the video that I was talking about.

So, how 'bout that Cam Heyward? He might actually be pretty good this year, huh?
