Just a point. Calling yourself Powerlifter or Birdwatcher is a choice, but frought with the fact that no matter how cool you think your hobby is, others might not. If i picked that name I'd expect a rash of roid rage/self image absorbed digs. Fair? Who gives a shit. It was your choice and you have to deal with it.

Another thing. I don't agree with lots of things said around here, but I damn sure pick my battles, and I did not battle anyone for a long damn time after I joined until I had some idea about the board personalities. I'd recommend trying it. If I can hang here with my obnoxious Gator sig a few months after Glendale, you can survive with a little circumspection. The thick skin thing is key.

I dinged you,because of exactly what I said above. I guess I should have been more specific for my ding next time and say "entire thread dumbass"...If you weren't so blind in thinking the way you did in that thread,then you would have understood I wasn't knocking anyone..I was just giving a guy credit for his accomplishments.

I could careless about rep power.Obviously...or about buckeye poster friends..Forums are mostly made to be informative and social. There comes a time when being social just to sound "cool" as you like to do is out of line imo..If I would have posted..."the patriots suck and to hell with them" you would have been giving greenies just to have someone agree with your one sided feeling..I could careless about your greenies..or your feelings

I've been a member since 2004. I don't have a reason to have thick skin. I haven't picked shit with anyone other then the few know it alls that have quoted me. The fact of my name being "powerlifter" has nothing to do with steroids. There are many drug tested federations. It's just assumed that I'm not in one of those,because I am not blind to see the onslaught of steroids in sports?

If someone learns and studies the history of cocaine it doesn't mean they snort it.

Nice try, that was the third post in the thread, I think I even complimented Tom Brady in the thread. You are just a jackass and knew you weren't actually smart enough to reply to anything I said so went with insults instead. Demonstrating some quality maturity there, next year, when you get to third grade, you'll learn how to have an actual conversation, it will be interesting to see how you do, but I bet you'll fail that grade a few times.

Did I laugh at the Pats loss? Yes, was it because of Brady? Nope, it was because Pats fans had been flooding every sports show, radio program or fan site with how they were the best team ever. It was because they were completely classless, it had little to do with their quarterback, the guy has 3 rings, what can I say? "Yeah, well anyone can get 3 rings?" No, forums are meant to be social most of the time.That's what keeps activity going. I just don't really see the point in pushing an opinion to the point of insulting others,because they don't agree with you. I,in fact,state facts. Even in this thread I brought up exact posts. I have been wrong on here before and stated when I was over and over. I just said I didn't care about rep power.I have seen useless posts by people with tons of greenies. That is about like saying I've been on this board,since 2004 so i'm special and have contributed so much....Nope..I just don't want to be banned for being an asshole like a lot of people are around here.I have no problem being an arrogant asshole to the ones that are me..

You are right in the "could not care" though..I stand corrected,and no that's not my example of being an asshole..You are correct

He seems to get brought up in a lot of threads and it clutters things.

This is how a thread with powerlifter in it usually goes.

Poster 1: hey look at this crazy basketball statistic
Poster 2: oh that's cool
powerlifter: wow that's pretty cool
poster 3: what the hell powerlifter...go do steroids!11!! you fuckin' tool
powerlifter: ....what? I came here to discuss the crazy basketball statistic, why are you bringing up irrelevant stuff?
poster 4: dear powerlifter- quit whining
poster 3: yeah, you need to relax


summary- there are some posters that seem to love to press powerlifter's buttons and as soon as he gets even a little steamed (and he usually handles himself well considering the shit he takes) then everyone else piles on saying he needs to calm down. A lot of people are looking to get him riled up and then turn around and tell him to settle down...doesn't make sense.

powerlifter has some different views on ONE freaking subject and yet everyone here loves to make his stay here miserable no matter what he thinks about any other subject. Then, once one poster does it, the rest of the "regulars" just pile on to watch the guy with less posts get pissed.

Dude, Thump called me a girl because I pay 35 dollars for a hair cut. I got over it. I've had music, movie and NBA trade opinions of mine knocked this week. I didn't cry about it.

And now PL has ruined a perfectly good thread about the Gator, and turned it into a "feel bad for me" session.

2) Thank you for calling me an arrogant asshole. I don't see where everything I have said is "truth." However, I have always tried to think my posts out before making them, and at least try to give insight as to why I have a certain thought or feeling. If you have a problem with my posts, then reply and actually have a conversation, that would be interesting, we could have this thing called a conversation, it's where one person expresses one point of view, and another person expresses a different point of view, the two then "converse." It's pretty cool, give it a try sometime.
