Draft Picks Smoking weed

craigblitz

Juice, Full of Juice!!
What are your thoughts on the kids who admitted to smoking weed in college (Gaines, Johnson, and DT from Lousiville). I think most kids have smoked weed and I think it is good for them to be honest about it. I think the people who gave this info to the magazine is an idiot. No way in hell will kids be open about it next year.

IMO I think it is more man of them to admit to smoking' pot...

I am sure more than half the players entering in the draft have smoked pot at one time or another and the GM's are stupid and for a kid to say that he has, at least he is being honest...

Absolutely, the ones not admitting are just that, not admitting it. How many college kids today honestly have not smoked week at some point in their adolescence? Agree it is a non-issue.

A non-issue.
i tend to disagree. i dont think its a non issue. its a small issue. with the recent stuff going on i believe that it will have an impact for a few players. ones with positive tests in college and what not. getting picked up for having a little weed likely went from a slap on the wrist and entry into the substance abuse policy to a larger penalty.

A majority of athletes smoke weed.

Im 24 and can honestly say Ive never done it, apprecite those coming forward with thier admittance and wouldnt hold it against them. Ones who have legal records with regards to it I might be hesitant on taking the risk on. Personally all contracts should have a stated drug use clause with penalties for failed drug tests or other violations. It all goes back to federal law to me, whether you agree with the law or not.

I think it depends as to what they said. It it was the Bill Clinton "I didn't inhale" kind of thing, it's not a big deal and kudos to them for being honest about trying it. Now, if one of them admitted they smoke a bowl a day...

Strange this gets leaked a couple of days before the draft. Maybe some team is trying to sabotage in order to get them to fall in the draft. That would be some sneaky shit.

i agree tere is a HUGE differece between i did it ones, rather than ts an every day occurance
yikes.

Anyhow I don't think it is an issue, Johnson and Okoye are both really smart kids by the sounds of it (no idea about Adams) and most everyone has tried weed at one time or another. They all passed their drug tests so I don't think teams are worried.
