Well the fact that the team belongs to the league adds a layer of complexity to that. They are under the provisions of the league office, even if they own franchises.

It will be interesting to see if he tries to rally support from any of the other owners...if there are 30 teams, then presumably he only needs 8 to keep the team, though which 8 would vote in his support I don't know.

One thing I got from the press was Adam Silver was very protective of his former boss David Stern, along with other NBA owners. But he works for the owners, so that's expected.

If the NBA loses sponsors because of him, he will get zero votes, property rights or not. The owners will not vote to take money out of their own pockets to save him.
