Does MSU have any chance versus Penn State?

So our entire fanbase is classless because a small percentage decided to act like drunken fools on Texas weekend?
I said nothing of the sort about the whole fanbase. I get pissed when Michigan fans talk about how OSU fans are classless, when they have plenty of incidents of their own (trash on the field, howard pose & singing, etc). It is possible to acknowledge that we've had some problems and still not stereotype the entire fanbase as being one way.

I'm not here to berate our fanbase. but we have had some ugly incidents besides that (hamby emails, spring game boos, etc)

maybe it is the same small percentage doing that everytime, and they need to have a visit from hamby, carpenter and kudla. but that's where I'm coming from.

MSU's edge coming in is that, when PSU has been vulnerable, it's against passing teams. Northwestern took them to the wire, Michigan beat them on a blown coverage assignment, even Purdue and South Florida were allowed to hang around far too long. I believe the Bucks would've beat PSU if they hadn't gone back to the 2004 road-playbook.

I think MSU has a reasonable chance of pulling off the upset.

Being that you follow OSU much more closely than any other school, it's entirely likely that you are more aware of OSUs so called "classless acts." OSU is the exact same as every other school as far as class goes (Across the entire fan base, and with a few exceptions (Such as Michigan, obviously and Criami)

1998 was the first year of the BCS ... OSU wound up playing Texas A&M in the Sugar Bowl. The ASU game was '96/'97, and OSU could have received the AP crown if FSU hadn't rolled over against the Gators.

You're right. The memories are still too painful to be coherent. The overall point, of course, is that MSU has beaten better teams than 2005 PSU.

So Desmond Howard striking the Heisman pose and singing Hail to the Victors atop the Horseshoe is evidence that Michgan's fans are classless?

Good point..but I'm sticking with my gut here. Sparty loses by 2+ TDs.

I've been wrong before...let's hope I eat crow on this one too.

You're probably right... but there are at least a couple things that could get old Sparty Motivated... (of course, that may not even matter, a few things will still have to bounce their way.)

Last 10 games for sparty agianst the AP top 10? 9-1

very true. this expresses my viewpoint pretty well, tho scUM and OSU fans keep coming to games when they start losing

penn state is a different team away from the confines of their dipshit fanbase.

This is the critical factor that I think gives MSU a decent shot of winning. Remember, PSU's only played on the road 3 times this year. They've crushed Illinois (who couldn't do that?), they lost to scUM, and they BARELY got by a Northwestern team that, let's face it, isn't that great. PSU is 10 times the team in Happy Valley than it is on the road. If this game were in Happy Valley, I'd say MSU has absolutely no shot. However, with it being in East Lansing and MSU needing this victory to become bowl eligible...MSU 24 PSU 13

I am living in a fantasy land where conspiracy reigns supreme. I would like to think that the dissension in the MSU camp is being overdone a bit to lull PSU into a false state of security. From this, MSU will come out and grab the momentum and ride it to the finish line, thereby upsetting PSU and making our dreams come true.

And don't give me that crap about no Santa Claus either!

Seriously, I think there is little chance but MSU is the Jekyll and Hyde of college football and this one is for pride. Maybe, just maybe...
