Only if it's an emergency. I mean no one "prefers" to use a public shitter but god knows we've all had potential Ryan's Steakhouse experiences that needed to be rectified immediately.

About the only thing that I miss from my old job are the private bathrooms. I usually like to take a 10 minute dump every day at work, but I don't like the bathroom here. Probably start taking care of that at home.

I used to teach with a guy that took a dump in the faculty b-room every day after the final bell rang. I asked him why he didn't just go home, (we both lived close to school.) He said, "No, I don't want to take any shit home with me!" :slappy:

My wife makes of me because I generally know which stores have the best restrooms for crapping in.

Without spending a lot of time thinking about it, I would say that my favorite ones of all time are the restrooms in Elder Beerman at the Dayton Mall. Second floor, recently renovated..... they're tucked back in the corner behind housewares and junk, so they're very quiet. Each stall has a full door on it, along with plenty of room to maneuver and get comfortable.

If you don't use public toilets just think of all the great art work/graffiti, telephone numbers to call for a good time, and lists of who eats shit that you would miss out on:

I try to avoid it at all costs, but sometimes you just cannot. I have found in my travels that the best places to stop are hotels. Everyone who is staying there already has one in their room, so they are always deserted. They are always very clean, and if you walk in through the front door like you belong you can grab a paper from the front desk on your way in. If I am ever driving down the road and home is not an option, I look for a hotel.

When there is an emergency situation, I always try to find the closest nicer hotel, especially when driving. Almost never fails. You have to figure almost all of the people staying there aren't using the public restrooms because they have their own in their rooms, also, hotels have cleaning services that keep you assured that the public toilets are being cleaned on a fairly regular basis.

I can't imagine holding it in all day long just because you don't want to go in a public place. When I was stationed in Korea while in the military I found some of the nastiest restrooms you will ever see. Some of these things were nothing more than holes in the floor. In one of the subway stations there they had what looked to be a mans toilet laying on the floor with a flush handle beside it. This was in a women's restroom!! It really made sense to me after that why I always saw people squating instead of sitting on the ground outside (on breaks, etc.).

I will go in a public restroom but I try to be courteous to others by doing it quietly.
