Not sure what you mean by "wanderer," but I'll take the 5-star kid over the 2-star any day of the week. Getting them is how you win national championships. When they bust, they bust, jut like anyone else; when they don't you get game-changing players.

If you mean you'd take any player over one who transfers out, then yes; you can't win games with players you used to have.

+1

Peope say that stars don't matter which is partially true. But as JWinslow noted in the original post, it seems that there is around a 70% hit rate with these 5 star players becoming super stars. That says alot right there to me.

Great thread. Just proves how inexact the recruiting science truly is.

As a diehard Buckeye fan, I'll take a "chop-licking" true "Buckeye" kid ranked a 3*** or 2** over a wanderer with a "5***** tag" any day of the week.:oh:

Peace

Sounds like a plan. Send all those 5 star kids down to Athens, GA then.
They can wander right into our starting line up

I dunno man, nearly 70% boom for 5 stars looks pretty darn accurate to me, given the subjective nature of recruiting.

Agreed. I've always thought that people tend to be too quick to write off 5-star rankings as it is but I didn't even expect something as high as 70%.
