DL Simon Fraser (Official Thread)

Simon's father, Professor Hamish Fraser, was recognized as an Honorary Professor by the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in South Africa this morning.

He is the Ohio Regents Eminent Scholar and Professor at The Ohio State University. Apparently, the Vice-Chancellor of the University went to some lengths to explain that the name officially includes the word "The" recognizing Ohio State as the State's premier university. Prof Fraser's research involves the development of advanced methods of materials characterization (involving high resolution and analytical electron microscopy), materials processing, and microstructure/property relationships. Recognized globally as an authority in the field, he serves as Director of Ohio State's Campus Electron Optics Facility.

His class was the hardest undergrad class I took at Ohio State, but he was great at teaching it. He knows titanium.
