Pulling for Nader to make the teams. Jacksonville is onee of the few teams in the league that has not had a buckeye on the roster the past few seasons. I can't even think of one who ever played for them. DT is a need for the Jags and I hope Nader can make the team this fall.

I believe Courtland Bullard is the last Buckeye to even go to camp with them. Way to go Nader

Somebody forgot to tell Nader he was just camp fodder...
The Jaguars brought in some players during mini camp for tryouts, and they awarded two of those players with contracts for their efforts. Nader Abdullah is the big UDFA DT out of Ohio State. He saw limited action starting 8 games his Jr. year and 7 games his Sr. year. However, he did well for himself in the workouts and drills, and some scouts had him going as high as the 3rd round.
Don't count him out, as he is a competent, big bodied interior lineman, something the Jags are sorely lacking in. He's got a real shot to make the team with the lack of talent at DT. Nader stands 6'4" and weighs 295 lbs; that is a nice size for a rookie. It's unrealistic to expect many guys to come in with a build like Terrence Knighton of 6'3" 323 lbs.
Abdullah performed well in the "Texas Vs. The Nation" games and practices. Here's an excerpt from his performance for scouts there.

Ravens Officially Place Terry On IR, Sign Tackle
Wednesday, August 05, 2009
Robert Lang

One day after learning that a knee injury will mean offensive tackle Adam Terry will miss the upcoming season, the Baltimore Ravens officially placed Terry on injured reserve Wednesday.

The Ravens also signed a rookie free agent defensive tackle.

Nader Abdallah is a 6'5" 297 pound defensive tackle out of Ohio State.

On May 4, Abadallah has been signed as an undrafted rookie free agent by the Jacksonville Jaguars. A month later the Jaguars waived Abdallah.

The 23-year-old from Metairie, Louisiana is seen by the Ravens as a strong physical lineman, who can play both tackle and end.
