- McKinley’s stats won’t wow you, but when you’re a young 6-foot-6, 308-pound defensive tackle who oozes potential you’ll get noticed. Through 18 games with the Tigers, he has totaled 14 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, four sacks and one fumble recovery.

The Ohio State football team flips three-star defensive lineman
McKinley stands at 6'3 and 270 pounds. He had been committed to LSU since August, so it has only been a few months. Adding McKinley now might be good news when the transfer portal opens, as well. The Buckeyes could try to poach his brother, Dominick McKinley.Dominick McKinley was a five-star defensive lineman who signed with the Tigers in the 2024 class. If the Buckeyes add both brothers, that would really fortify the defensive line heading into next season. They will be losing several players up front again next year.

Too soon old, too late smart
Thinking along the same lines as Script. Looking at the eligibility lists of the DL, alot of backups, and starters have 'senior' next to their name. Do believe that some RS are mixed in, but not entirely certain. There in deed has been an influx of DTs, courtesy of LJsr, but a plug-and-play one or three technique could be valuable.

With a loaded group of defensive ends in 2026, including Kenyatta Jackson Jr., Beau Atkinson, Zion Grady, Epi Sitanilei, Alabama transfer Qua Russaw and fellow freshmen Khary Wilder and Dre Quinn, McKinley isn’t likely to see much playing time in year one.How McKinley develops over the course of his first couple of years in Columbus will determine whether he ultimately earns his way onto the defensive line two-deep in 2027 or 2028.

Maybe he starts as an Edge, but I really see him growing into a solid 3-tech sooner rather than later. Doesn't really matter to me, I think he's a couple years out anyways and I saw him as seriously underrated.

Not trying to degrade anyone here but Atkinson is just a name on the roster until he shows he’s anything beyond that. In no way am I trying to put words in anyone’s mouth but I don’t understand why it’s some foregone conclusion that he’s a lock for the rotation.
Maybe I’m being harsh, but he didn’t stand out at all to me against high level competition.
