DK Royal Stadium versus the Shoe....

Well I would agree with all of your wins. I have a different oppinion on the loses though. Most of those don't bother me near as much as

ou -2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004

its as simple as that. I still have nightmares of roy williams leaping over the line, trent smith motioning across the line, draws to quinten griffen, and three yard out routs to roy williams when the entire world knows that you can go deep.

The losses in 2001 to OU and Colorado stand out to me. Mack's best team up until probably this year with two big national games and the Horns lost them both. Losing to Colorado in the Big XII Championship was extra rough because it was a team Texas had beaten 41-7 earlier in the season.

There's been a theme with Mack Brown losses at UT, at least with me. Out of his 19 losses, I can only remember 3 where I wasn't completely disgusted with the coaching and/or playcalling. Sometimes, you watch your team lose a game, but aren't too pissed off because your team played their best but just flat out got beat by a better team. I haven't felt that way at all during the Brown era.
We feel your pain - Mack Brown has grabbed the John Cooper's throne for his recruiting abilities to outshine his coaching.

In my opinion there is nothing wrong with having this kind of head coach, but you must compensate by having outstanding coordinators, Mack refuses to let greg davis go, they are too good of friends. It was amazing the turn around our defense made in one year after letting carl reese go.

No doubt HL. Dick Tomey and Greg Robinson did an outstanding job shoring up the defense. It was nice to see them utilize the wealth of talent they had even though they lost a few guys to injuries and academics.

Do any Texas fans know if DKRoyal stadium is going to seat 100,000 after the renovations? Looks like it must already be big to hold 80, and that's plenty of addition in the picture. In other words, is Texas going for the largest college football stadium in the country?

I don't know who has the claim now, probably the Big Outhouse after the renovations, but Tennessee is up there too. In fact, I think those three plus Penn State are the four that routinely average 100 + per game.

the picture you see in this thread would be the largest stadium in the nation. However there are several other schools that have plans to increase the size of there stadium as well. atm is one of them and no doubt they will do anything to be "better" than texas, so i guess we'll see

Since we're talking about stadiums, can someone describe how loud the Notre Dame stadium gets? B/c its been described as a hostile environment and is the same shape as UM's... is it louder than the Pig House? Because the toilet bowl in AA is NOT loud at all.

Penn State is loud. The Horse Shoe is loud. The swamp and death valley are loud. Tennessee is loud.

The Quiet "Big House" is remarkably unimpressive. It might be nice to look at, but there are at least 15 stadiums that could beat it noise-wise.

And I'm not quite sure about club seats but I believe they are around 15,000 per year? I also heard something about how they are so difficult to get that you can pass them down to family members when you pass away.
Disclaimer: I'm sure people with club seats are just as big of fans as everyone else. Just seems like they'd be a little isolated, which I don't think would be very much fun.
I have club seats and they cost $2000/year for each seat. The Gold Seats are $3000 I think. Mine are right on the 30 yd line right above a portal so nobody in front of me. But of course I don't use them, it's an investment for the future of OHIO STATE FOOTBALL! When they were first offered Varsity O members didnt' have to pay the initiation fee/President's Club Fee (still don't) each year which is like $2500. So $2500 plus my two tickets ($4000 @2K each) comes to $6500 BUT I'm not required to pay the $2500 President's Club fee each year so I'm getting a MAJOR DEAL! It was a NO BRAINER. I usually sell the tickets each year!

Just thought I'd give you the info on the Club Seats!

from what I hear, thats not even true, don't they have a sunken stadium?
Yes, it's a big hole in the ground and it's circular, it has no character or anything to distinguish it other than the fact that they squeeze a hell of a lot of people in there on Saturdays.
