Look at trhe situation: 1,800 students, all boys, solid academic rep, huge endowment fund provides money for "diversity" scholarships, ability to draw from a vast geographic area, excellent facilities, excellent coaching, don't look for them to lose too many games in the near future or for many years to come.

Anyway, back towards the topic at hand, a better poll would have been something like St. X (-15) vs. Coffman. Not many people outside of central Ohio are giving the 'Rocks much of a chance in this game. Coffman has a great offense, as does St. X, but the overwhelming push in St. Xavier's favor seems to play of the team's defense. I figure Coffman and St. X's offenses are about equal whereas St. X's defense is vastly superior to Coffman's defense. The only way I see Coffman taking this game is if they can manage to keep the St. X offense off the field, which may be tough because they're going to have to run the ball on the St. X defense, and no one has been able to do that. Coffman will have to force turnovers and rely on 5-10 yard tosses in the flats to keep the ball moving and control the clock. The name of the game is ball control, and no one has done that better in recent years than St. X. Should be a good game to watch.

Coffman is marching down field, crossing the 50 on back to back runs.

Pass incomplete from Stout to Fairchild

on 2nd and 10, Jones has another nice run for another Coffman 1st down

St. X's first down play was a long scramble and then pass... incomplete

2nd & 10 Ashley runs for about 4, stop by Gardiner

On 3rd & 6, St. X QB scramble is short of the 1st down

St. X draws an offsides on the punt - 1st down X

On 1st & 10 Ashley runs to about the 26, 2nd & 3

X pass to Milligan complete for a 1st down at avout the X 35yd line

On 1st down, run by Romeo (sp?) to the 40yd line

Ashley another 2 yards to the 42

St. X runner stopped for a los son 3rd down - St. X punt unit comes on

Steve Gardiner is everywhere
