Once, when I was very small, I was watching The Game with my late father and grandfather. When I said something about hoping that UM would lose every game, both immediately corrected me.
"Let UM win every game. Let them roll into the OSU game every year undefeated and on a high and let them leave with their tails between their legs. When we beat them, really whup them, let no one misunderstand who deserves to be called the best team is in all of college football. And, let them understand clearly that the route to any national championship or Big Ten title runs through the Shoe!"
For long periods of time, the bowl games actually were an anti-climax to The Game. I would personally like to see it all go that way again. Let the Big Ten win all their bowls and let us beat all of them. Let UM come to Columbus or us go to them with the NC on the line. Let everyone else play for second. If they beat Texas by 50 points, what does it say about the cannowhoppass we just opened on them?
All I care about is that the Buckeyes win, and win big, over a schedule everyone knows is a tough one.
Buckeyes #1 in 2005, the next NC year!
