Discussion of Buckeye Mock Draft - Improvements / Suggestions

In the interest of keeping things real....I never really liked the rule where teams just get passed over. I know that's how they do it in real life, but in real life everybody is present. I've always been a fan of other people voting for a pick that is expired. The first person that is voted 3 times gets picked, with the hope that people will look at that teams needs and not just screw the owner over.

My suggestion is to have an independent group of posters (ie posters who don't have any team in the draft) pick players for those who take too long. It helps to keep things moving and it removes any conflicts of interest.

I'd be willing to be in that group so I can get all the USC players drafted

Ok, got an idea to keep this going this year. When we pick the date we start whoever will be in charge will ask whoever has the first pick when they would be able to draft by? Then once they give you the time you can PM the #2 guy to let them know the first pick should be done by this time, when would he be able to get his pick done?

That way we can create a structured schedule so people can expect when there pick will be done. Just a thought.

I like this idea a lot; A reminder sent the N.O. Saints (me) PM's if you'd like to trade up.

It would never work.

I'm wondering if we should allow broadcast messages like this, or if we should make the owners do the work and PM the people they think will be interested....

Good point, I'd have no issue with doing away with it.

Although I'm still for starting on the April 3rd.
Last year it started on the 23rd and ended on the 7th... so 16 days worth of drafting.

By starting on the 3rd, i'm able to see Leinert and Bush and we are still given 29-3 = 26 days of drafting.

So yea, that's an extra 10 days from last year, the top 2 players in the draft have yet to work out yet, and we still need to get a few of the draft people confirmed and ready to pick. This thing seems a lot more organized then last year, so an extra 10 days should be plenty of time. Plus if we can't broadcast trade offers, then some of us owners have some extra work on our hands and need to get busy sending offers tonight :wink2:

what are we doing with situations like the bills are going to have where Moulds is likely to get traded before the trade deadline...am i to assume that he is still on the team when i make my picks or do i assume that i get the 4th rounder that the bills are looking for because I may be in need of a WR if he is gone

Use him as trade bait for a team that needs a WR.
