Difference b/t Buckeyes and Boise State...

JoJaBuckeye

First we take Michigan--then the whole world!
10. In Columbus they circle the RVs. In Boise they circle the wagons.

9. The horseshoe holds roughly the population of Idaho. The BSU stadium is roughly the population of Section C of the horseshoe.

8. In Boise the playing field is blue. In Columbus, the visiting team is blue.

7. Buckeye cheerleaders must demonstrate of high degree of athleticism to make the squad. Bronco cheerleaders just have to be a squaw.

6. The Buckeyes have a coach named Tressel. The Broncos just crossed a huge trestle.

5. The Buckeyes play next to a river. The Broncos play next to the mountains.

4. Buckeyes hate Michigan. Broncos hate losing.

3. Buckeyes know that Oklahoma sucks. Broncos helped make it so.

2. Buckeyes Ginn-R-Done. Broncos Git-R-Done.

And the no. 1 difference is...

1. Buckeyes think the BCS sucks. Broncos know why.

you use the term "negroes" in another thread, claiming it's an anachronism that validates its usage. now you're using the term "squaw"? the word "squaw" has both a fine and a negative connotation. that's almost beside the point. i just find your comment obscene.

by the way, it's "b/w" not "b/t." the list sucks anyway.

How do you feel about the term "high horse"?

For those who have no clue what the funk anachronism means (like myself):

The utilization of an event, a person, an object, language in a time when that event, person, or object was not in existence

A name whose use is chronologically incongruous. The appeal of Orville Redenbacher's gourmet popping corn, for example, is inextricably tied to its old-fashioned moniker. Roman Meal bread is another clear case of this technique. [Greek ana- + chronos "time"]

the blending of the historical past with contemporary events and characters. Mystery plays used this device to make the biblical/historical subject matter more accessible to the public.

Well pal, you don't know me. But if you had half a clue about me, you'd know I much prefer you stick that multicultural, hypersensitive, gender neutral BS where the sun don't shine. And if you fail to see the humor intended in the list above, what the hell are you doing in this thread to begin with?

And for the record, I selected the term squaw for its phonetic relationship to squad. Any two-bit, finger-snapping poet who ever dropped out of Poetry 101 For Wolverines ought to see that.

I'm guessing most people on here are not interpreting the term "squaw" as negative.

you know... i've had a couple pms with other posters about this and didn't want to discuss it anywhere but there, but i'll make it known anyway. the reason that it ticks me off when people use the term "negro" and think it doesn't matter is because one of my parents is a negro and i've witnessed enough to recognize its impact. heck, i received a pm from a poster here who think it's debatable whether n*gg*r is a negative term. so excuse me for taking stuff like this personally. for you, it's "multicultural, hypersensitive" bs. for others here, don't assume that. you can go through the history of my posts and see that i've never taken a pc stand before. however, when the terms "negroes" and "squaws" are used jokingly, i will surely respond like this.

but, hey, i'm responding to someone who posted this joke:

what's a fat chink?
a chunk.

BTW, what's the negative connotation of squaw? I think most of us just think of a Native American female.

just guessing here

from Wiki
"That curious concept of 'squaw', the enslaved, demeaned, voiceless childbearer, existed and exists only in the mind of the non-Native American and is probably a French corruption of the Iroquois word otsiskwa [also spelled ojiskwa] meaning 'female sexual parts', a word almost clinical both denotatively and connotatively. The corruption suggests nothing about the Native American?s attitude toward women; it does indicate the wasichu's [white man's] view of Native American women in particular if not all women in general"..
