Dick Vitale (official thread)

Damn dukie V is looking rough these days. That commercial is just sad

He is 81 and I guess that's what you call getting old. He's actually signed with ESPN for next year too:

Dick Vitale, ESPN Agree on Contract Extension Through 2020-21 Season

Dick Vitale signed a contract extension with ESPN on Thursday that will keep him with the cable giant through the 2020-21 college basketball season.

The agreement is essentially a one-year extension since the two sides agreed to a deal last May that kept Vitale in tow through 2020.

"ESPN has been family to me and I am honored that they want me to continue being a contributor on our college basketball team," Vitale said in a press release. "ESPN has provided me a forum that has turned my dreams to reality. I feel young at heart. I said once, and I will say it again—my goal is to be the first in broadcasting to open a hoops game at 100 years old saying 'This is Awesome, Baby! with a capital A.'"

I am guessing if he is calling a game at age 100, he's going to call himself a diaper dandy.

Dookie V...

Don't get a Kentucky fan started on Dook Vitale! I appreciate his passion for the game, but I swear you could hold up a flash card with any word in the English language, and he would be able to create a sentence using that word and a Dook reference. He has a lot of reverence for some of the other major programs and coaches (the TarHoles, Kansas, FEBUK (Rick P), and my favorite program included), but it's nothing like his ongoing fellation of Dook University and Mike Krzasd9hqfewfonhqdnvapskee.

You know, I wonder if there's a Dook Vitale drinking game out there similar to the Brent Mushbooger drinking game. Goodness, you could get pretty hammered playing a Dook Vitale drinking game. There's just so much to work with...
Listening to him cover a Dook-UNC game, I wouldn't say he's a UNC fan. Dook's head cheerleader's nose is so far up Coach K's ass, he can tell you what Coach K had for breakfast!

Legendary college basketball analyst Dick Vitale announced Monday that he has received his second cancer diagnosis in a span of just a few months. In August, the former coach revealed he had undergone surgery to remove melanoma. Vitale shared in a new essay he has been diagnosed with lymphoma and urged the importance of early detection.

“For the second time in just a few months, I’ve been diagnosed with a form of cancer,” Vitale wrote. “As a result of some symptoms I’ve had in recent weeks, I’ve been undergoing tests and doctors have now confirmed it’s lymphoma.

“I had announced in August that I underwent multiple surgeries to remove melanoma (which has been totally cleared), yet the doctors believe this lymphoma diagnosis is unrelated. What’s evident is that the treatment plan for this lymphoma is going to be a lot tougher, and in both cases, early detection played an important role in helping to manage the cancers.

“With all that said, I consider myself very lucky. I’ve seen firsthand the devastation that cancer can have on families, on children, and on all of our loved ones. It can bring you to your knees. It’s physically and emotionally exhausting. It robs you of so many things, including life itself for some of the most unfortunate patients. I never lose sight of that, and that’s why I feel so lucky.”

Dickie Poo had his nose stuck up Coach Knight and Coach K's behind, his nose was brown. Cannot seem to forgive him for his outburst at a Buckeye game, saying one of our players should be thrown out of the game (open mick gaffe). Since his favorite coachs have retired, maybe Dickie's 15 minutes of fame are over? PS, with all that, am truly sorry he's gotten cancer. Getting old is not for sissies. Go Bucks!
