Make no mistake the Cincinnati stop of the Scout.com Combine series lived up to its billing despite many top athletes fighting track schedules, proms and length of trips to take their turns on the field turf of Cincinnati (Ohio) Princeton High School. Naming an MVP is never an easy thing to do and those who competed in Cincinnati left much discussion that continued as the Scout.com team recruiting team made their way back home.
But after heavy debate the Scout.com team came away feeling super athlete and future Michigan quarterback
Michigan verbal commitment
Devin Gardner earned MVP honors for his overall performance.
Despite having already issued a verbal commitment to
Rich Rodriguez and Michigan, Gardner came prepared to compete in each event and prove he deserved the honor of combine MVP.
Gardner, who stands 6-foot-4, 200-pounds took snaps at quarterback, wide receiver and defensive back throughout the day showing great poise and ability at each position.
Not only did Gardner do it during football drills he also tested well during the combine portion of the event posting a 4.57 forty and came to Cincinnati with the desire to show he wanted to be a great player and not just another big name on the recruiting scene.
