Now had the tables been turned and Ohio State were fighting for a NC spot, he would say USC wins no doubt about it... He's the biggest homer I've ever seen and THE biggest idiot on ESPN (yes, he beats out Mark May!!!)

Take just about any starting QB off a team and the team would lose an extra 2-3 games a year I'd imagine. Add in the fact that the QB is a Heisman Trophy winner and that estimate becomes even more probable. I say this not to simply validate what Howard said, but to point out that what he said would apply to just about every Division I-A football team, every year. He's making such an obvious observation that he is adding nothing to the halftime show. His statement is the equivalent of saying something like, "If team A turns the ball over 5 times this weekend and its opponent doesn't turn the ball over at all, team A is likely to lose." I cannot believe ESPN gives Howard face time on any of its shows.

Uh, Earth to Desmond: the Holiday Bowl is Texas A&M against Cal, not Texas against Cal. Then again, that's not a fact we'd expect a legitimate college football analyst to know or anything.
