Listed as the No. 2 running back on the depth chart, Drake Johnson will miss the remainder of the 2013 season due to injury, head coach Brady Hoke confirmed Monday. Johnson suffered a torn ACL covering a second-half kickoff in the season-opening win over Central Michigan.

With Johnson’s injury, true freshman Derrick Green has officially slid into the No. 2 spot on the most recent depth chart. Green, a five-star member of UM’s 2013 recruiting class and rated as the top back in the country, led the Wolverines in rushing in the opener with 58 yards in 11 carries.

He didn't have as great as a game as his stats would suggest. He had a 30 yard run where the hole was literally 5 yards wide, and went completely untouched. Otherwise, 10 carries for 28 yards.

Jordan Hall didn't have as great as a game as his stats would suggest. He had a 49 yard and 37 yard run where the hole was literally 5 yards wide and went completely untouched. Otherwise 19 carries for 73 yards.

The 49-yard run did not have a gaping hole...Miller read the handoff option perfectly, seeing that the defense had completely vacated the middle. There was a hole, but not that big. The hole on the 37-yard TD, however, was big enough to run my car through and not hit anyone.
