Denard "LLL" Robinson (an excellent driver)

So what we have is a guy who wants to play WR in the NFL, yet he (1) hasn't done enough to show he can do so, (2) consistently drops the ball, and (3) can't run routes.
Those are very harsh words to describe every WR the Browns have drafted over the last 5 years  with the exception of Gordon (for now)

I confess to blasphemy... but I (Browns fan for life) would take him.. IF we have assurances that arm is OK... which I am not convinced it is... and could be a major issue with his ability to catch... wouldn't be surprised if it could take a full year... nerve damage repair is slowwwwwwwwww...

till then I'd let him work on punt & kick returns with Cribbs

I hate to be a contrarian, but I think there may be a place for him in the league. Some team may use a 6th on him and get a couple of return touchdowns and an occasional long run on a reverse. He may even catch a ball or two along the way. This of course will happen before he gets flattened by an angry safety or hungry punt coverage wildman.

No team in their right mind would use any kind of a draft on a guy who can't run routes, can't catch the ball, can't field punts.

he'll definitely be a project for any team that drafts him. Still being projected as a 2nd or 3rd round pick though.......should be interesting to see what a team does with him. Interesting to me anyway.....

He may be ideally suited for the football version of the "crash test dummy" to test football helmets:

Is that you, Eric Crouch?
Teams will draft anybody if they think they can catch lightning in a bottle.

Yep. Like Deion says, "That's why they keep picking in the top 5 each year."

Say what you want about Crouch. He'd SUCCESSFULLY made the change from running QB to receiver. The only thing that got in his way of making the Rams roster was his enormous ego (thinking he can play QB at the next level).

Other former college QBs that used their athletic ability to get onto a roster spot:

Hines Ward (future hall of famer)
Randle-El
Matt Jones (couldn't stay away from the sticky icky)
Scott Frost (played safety for a long time on different NFL rosters)
Brad Smith
Josh Cribbs
Anquan Bouldin

There's two differences between ALL of them and Hairlice. The first one? I'll let someone else say it:

01/21/2013 - 2013 Senior Bowl, Monday North practice: During the North's practice, there are three different color jerseys: white (offense), blue (defense) and then also yellow (quarterbacks). And Michigan's Denard Robinson, who played quarterback in Ann Arbor but is listed at wide receiver on the Senior Bowl roster, also had a yellow jersey despite not taking any snaps from center. He participated in several wide receiver and special teams exercises but wasn't involved in many contact drills, which is probably due to the arm/hand injury he suffered last fall. Robinson looked natural with the ball in his hands, but he didn't display ideal ball skills, something that will take some time as he adjusts to a different position on offense. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com

The second? He went to

There's a difference between drafting smartly and drafting with no idea on how to look at talent.

Other than being very fast, Robinson has shown nothing for anybody to say he can play at the next level. Maybe he should have been working on trying to project himself to the next level in the offseasons?

Finally - I think I know where you got your draft day projection on Hairlice:

They're settin ya up, man....

Kiper reiterated the widely held belief that Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson will have to convert to slot receiver/return specialist in the NFL, but he said Robinson still could go in the second round. He compared him to Antwaan Randle El, another former Big Ten quarterback (Indiana) who successfully made the NFL transition to receiver.

EDIT: All someone has to do to know how hairlice does against NFL type defenses just needs to pop in this tape.

I hope they're not looking at game film of the Notre Dame game a couple years ago. Te'o wasn't there. He was visiting his sick imaginary girlfriend at the time.

I remember Michigan fans giving Pryor shit for saying he picked Ohio State to learn how to play QB. Obviously that's not the only reason he picked the school he did, but when you're down to Oregon, Michigan, and Ohio State......one of those schools runs an offense that will at least resemble an NFL offense. Too bad Denard didn't have that foresight.

Well, we know one that will run an NFL type offense now. Ain't that right, Chip?

If there's any doubt what 'ball skills' at the WR position in the NFL entail....

One that Hairlice would have to run at the next level as a slot receiver:

wow, you're way to invested in making the case against him........ Did he kick your dog or something?

I hope he gets drafted and can make some money. At least he's out there trying to make it, instead of getting fat and wasting any talent he has, a la Jamarcus Russell
