Shedeur's privilege is over now. He has one season to not only beat out Gabriel, but also Flacco who is going to go into the season as the starter. If he doesn't prove he's the guy he'll likely be cut before next season when they use their stash of picks to move up and pick a top QB next year. He better be in Cleveland working his ass off and doing all the right things starting today or he's going to be looking for a new job in a year.

Do you think Cleveland could come out ahead by trading him during the 2025-26 season? For example, as a replacement back-up to a team who's starting QB received a season-ending injury?

Yeah, but he was actually playing there. He went to the Jets and barely played and was covered like a superstar. Maybe that was with NE. Didn't he sign with them & get daily training camp coverage only to be cut? Either way, I expect a similar dose of vacuous coverage on a player who isn't even going to play.

I'm not sure he isn't going to play. You've got the desiccated husk of Joe Flacco, an injured sex offender, Dillon Gabriel, and Kenny Pickett as the competition. I agree that that the vacuous coverage will be off the charts, although I'm not sure it will surpass Bronnie James in terms of something more recent than Tebow unless we're only talking about NFL.

Oh, Bronnie takes the cake, but I'm just talking NFL. I guess he could end up seeing a little action this year, but he will face plant and then throw the team under the bus. Then, he'll be unceremoniously waived next March to make room for Drew Allar.
