Taver Johnson has been hired as cornerbacks coach of the Ohio State football team, the university said in a statement released today.

While I really like the hire, I do not understand why a guy would leave an assistant coaching position in the NFL to become an assistant coach in the college ranks. Usually, it is the other way around. See Mel Tucker. I understand that some guys like the college atmosphere in working and teaching kids so maybe I am answering my own question but for career opportunities it seems to me like he is going the wrong way. I don't know.
