The only disapointment I had was the fake punt working.

They got their hands on a lot of passes, but didn't get any picks. Those will come if they keep playing 'D' like they did.

The third down defense was very effective.

Happy!

I'm very happy with the performance of the defense. Congrats to Coach Snyder, and I wanna say that I'm extreamly happy because we're alot more aggressive on those 8 yard outs. I don't know how many times teams would just pick at our secondary with the short outs or slants. I was very impressed with the back 7. The Defensive line I thought did a great job as well. I think next week when we face Big Ole Stan Hill who's a less mobile QB and likes to stay in the pocket that we'll see this defensive line put some shots on him and get some sacks as well. However with Gino he would roll out, and with myself being at the game I saw honestly if you go bak and watch the tapes it was very rare that one of our defensive ends weren't all over him by the time he was getting ready to release the ball. I also agree with the score SHOULDV'E been alot worse. Something like 48-0, but it wasn't and thats fine because it honestly probably helped our kids experience a more closer game which in all honesty we all know they'll need later down the schedule.

GO BUCKS!!!

Oh yeah One more thing guys, I was listening to the talk show after the game and they said that OSU didn't show hardly any of there blitz packages,or coverage packages, or stunts fromt he line. They still have alot of stuff that they are saving until they really need to. IMO it will probably be NC State that will get the full system.

The Best

As I said before the season, I think this defense has the potential to be the best ever at Ohio State for the next couple of years. Think about Saturday's game and ask yourself three questions:

1) From a defensive standpoint did you feel better about Saturday against a veteran Cincinnati team or 02 against an inexperienced Cincinnati team with a lot of the same guys?

2) Can you imagine EJ or Ginn burned on an out and up or AJ or Bobby giving the other team "mo" by chokng their quarterback? More to the point - can you see this D blowing last year's Wisconsin game?

3) Can you imagine ANY running back in the country controlling the game against this D. More to the point - does last year's Michigan team torch this D with a new and improved D'Andrea in the middle along with Schlegel?

We'll know more about question 3 when we face McLendon and company in a few weeks. I just think it would take a major meltdown for anybody to have their way with this unit.

It was mentioned that both of Cincys field goals resulted from turnovers. That alone in itself is very impressive. Coach Snyder seems to be picking up the defense, were Marc Dantonio left off. It would have been nice to get a feed byte on Dantonio's comments in regards to the game. Anybody out here in Planet-land here of any such links to it. ????????

Great Finish

I was happy with the way the defense finished the game. Last year it always seemed like we would start playing real soft if we had a lead of more than 7 points. This game the defense stayed aggressive until the last play. As inexperienced as we still are the fewer the close games the better.
