Decanonized Mythologized Disgraced Ped State Monster Coach Joe Paterno (Zombie Icon)

It just got even more realer- NCAA to investigate Penn State

"I am writing to notify you that the NCAA will examine Penn State's exercise of institutional control over its intercollegiate athletics programs, as well as the actions, and inactions, of relevant responsible personnel," Emmert wrote. "We recognize that there are ongoing federal and state investigations and the NCAA does not intend to interfere with those probes."

Here's the actual letter, in PDF form.

From one of the genius State Penn fans, posted just yesterday on Audibles:

Only idiots will bring up NCAA and the death penalty. They have NO UNDERSTANDING on how the NCAA operates and the rules they run under. The NCAA has NO JURISDICTION over a criminal matter. LOIC falls under a different umbrella pertaining to constant or reckless disregard to NCAA rules in the book, not covering up a criminal matter, or a former assistant coach engaging in actions like this. Fools think the NCAA should get involved, not people who understand what the NCAA is about.

I'm not sure which quality more adequately describes State Penn fans, idiocy or denial.

I think they ought to do a "joint investigation" with the Feds.

Federal case coming against Sandusky?

Federal prosecutors and FBI agents in Pennsylvania are looking into opening a federal investigation into accused child molester Jerry Sandusky, NBC News reported Friday.

One of our older clients played LB as a walk-on back when Joe Pa was an assistant. Was talking to him earlier today about everything going on at his alma mater, and if even half of what he has said really went on under JoePa, then Ped State better find out how much the melt value of that statue is. Cleanest program in the NCAA my ass.

(No, Jerry, that last sentance was NOT an invitation.)

This is a stretch (hello, lawyers) but I'm curious:

If elements of this can be proven, such as 2nd Mile being used for trafficking, the out-of-state abuse in Texas, Penn State booster money being tied to abusing children, the school administration involved and/or covering it up, etc., is there any way the Feds could throw a RICO blanket over this case? If they could, what would that change for the university?

Unsportsmanlike Conduct on 1620thezone.com stating that Scott Paterno says that his father has a treatable form of lung cancer now.

Sheesh.

It's all over the twittertubes right now. Oddly, Scott's Twitter account has been dormant since Nov 10, but the AP is reporting that, when reached for comment, Scott said Joe Pa has lung cancer.

That would be what I just caught the end of on ESPiN--saw a breaking news ending, but didn't catch what it was.

Well, no really big surprise. I recall a discussion on here last year about how sick Joe looked. Someone had seen him in person and said he was extremely thin.
