THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

GLENDALE, Ariz. ? Ohio State defensive end Vernon Gholston has made a lot of noise this season, and David Patterson isn?t happy about it.

I agree... I'd say he played the best game out of anyone last night. He was getting great to good pressure every snap.. had 1 sack, played tons of coverage, almost had an INT.. great game Gholston!

Unfortunately when he dropped back into coverage, rarely did anyone assume his place on the pass rush and we were left rushing with 3, getting little pressure. Where were the LB blitzes?

yeah that was frustrating seeing our best pass rusher taken off the rush.. and seeing the 5 man line from Texas hold a 3 man pass rush.... I Felt bad for the 3 boys in the trenches who had to apply pressure. Thats hard work and to come away with nothing in terms of production sucks... Another part of the gameplan I NEVER understood...I love how Gholston plays though.. isn't his fault he's not utilized I guess??

Maybe I'm underestimating Wilson but I've never thought of him as a physical specimen like Rose and Gholston. They just ooz athleticism.

I'm a fan of Wilson so far. He's made a number of sacks nobody seems to remember and carry on, taking care of business quietly. But that's just my impression living 2000+ miles away...
