Solomon Thomas is known primarily for two things in his Ohio State career. The reserve defensive lineman made the game-clinching interception in last season?s Sugar Bowl when it looked as if Ohio State was on the verge of squandering a huge lead to Arkansas. He?s also known for being one of five Buckeyes suspended for five games in the tattoo-and-memorabilia scandal. The personable Thomas opened up about both matters as well as what Senior Day will mean to him.
Q: Let?s start with the interception.
A: The week prior to the game, I was real sick and didn?t even think I would play. The pick was sweet too but I was just happy we won. I wanted to send the seniors out with a win.
Q: How sick were you?
A: I think I had pharyngitis. I only practiced one day. I was about 225 pounds for that game, 15 pounds underweight.
