DE Solomon Thomas (official thread)

Yeah, I am very excited to see what he is all about. Gholston/Dublin/Thomas at WDE should be very formidable for the coming years. The only thing that concerns me is his 4.82 speed, but Butch should be abel to get that down. However, he doesn't seem to have a problem running down the QB/RB (or pushing thorugh the OLine for that matter) in his videos, so maybe it is a little misleading.

Don't pay attention to 40 times they are over rated.

EDIT: On top of 40 times not meaning a whole lot is that a burst or being able to be able explosive is much more important in football.

Great read by Greg Powers...Solomon talks about his official and the state of the OSU program.

Solomon's got a great outlook on the future of the football program at OSU and we all should too...

I am not going to post every one of these, but this one is of particular interest...just to show that nothing is ever safe and we only know a tenth of what is really going on.

Excellent update and profile by Greg Powers...interesting to note that three weeks ago Florida offered but Solomon never even considered it.

Now if that had been public knowledge when it happened, can you imagine the meltdown that would have taken place. But it never made the headlines and we continued thinking Solomon was locked up. Even when we don't hear any news, you better believe there are always other coaches continuing to contact kids that are committed to OSU.

Too bad that Ben Martin did not decide to team with Soloman Thomas. They are both in the same mold with an amazing burst. I did not think much about Thomas until I saw his film. WOW! His video is equally as impressive as Martin. IMO, Thomas is worthy of a five star rating. One of the most impressive DL's film I've seen in a long time.

From what the BPRT has been told, I don't think Martin liked the depth chart in front of him at OSU and did not like the idea of coming in with Thomas. However, I don't think they are similar at all. Martin will like play the weakside whereas once he bulks up Thomas will likely play over the tight end. That is where he played in high school and that is where I see him in college. Martin has spent so much time as a LB and speed rusher in high school that Tennessee likely sold him on the idea of coming off the weakside.
