My take? I still am not convinced Solomon is the 2nd best defensive end in Ohio. I think he has a better burst around the edge than Ben Martin did, and seems a bit more active on the interior.

That is probably a good assessment. Also, for reasons that are not completely clear, he was not the most productive D-lineman on his Lakota West squad this year. Likely cause, double teaming which freed up the opposite end to net multiple sacks. Said opposite end has no interest in football at the collegiate level though, otherwise Lakota West could have had both DE's go out to D-1A colleges on scholarship, one at DE, the other at LB or other position. The other DE, Grant Hunter, was more interested in playing Lacrosse, for which he has netted a schollie at Robert Morris.crazybuckfan40;716813; said:Give this kid a redshirt and 50 lbs and he will be a stud...

Absolutely, and I am not doubting Thomas' potential. It is good to see his smaller alter-ego on the opposite end (Hunter) get to fulfill his dream as a Lacrosse player in college. But, back to the (non) judgment of Solomon :)crazybuckfan40;716831; said:Well that is the main reason why La Salle moved Martin to LB b/c they knew teams would just double him, run away from him and roll away from him. The main reason why a kid like Thomas or any great DE in high school doesnt put up good stats.
Keep in mind Thomas was a camp offer and those always seem to work out great...
