DE Solomon Thomas (official thread)

Here is my take:

The staff saw him at camp first hand and thought he was worthy of an offer. We know the drill on the guys with camp offers.

So the question is how many ships the staff is willing to use. If Wilson wants to come how do you tell him no. If Wilson says yes b4 Thomas verbals b/c of his test score, he could get left out. If that does not happen then I see Thomas coming.

But I do agree with Grad that I could honestly see it going eitherway, but I think he only gets left out if a stud like Wilson says he wants to jump on ship...

Just curious where you see him playing?

Saw every game. Huge Lakota West fan. And teams did run right at him a good deal of the time, especially during the Middletown game. He seemed to pick it up against East and X, but that's about it. He shows a ton of potential however. The players have said he has a great work ethic and never quits.

I think he meant "what position do you see him playing in the future?"

Wow, my mistake guys! :(

Well then, he's got a frame that looks like it could support a good more deal of muscle, he's fast, athletic...I can really see the move to LB as a perfect fit for him. I remember sometimes that they would have the two DE's go into pass coverage, and he was very fluid/crisp in getting to his drops quickly and accurately.

I've had a Craig Powell comparison in my head since I watched his film..

OK Grad, whats your call; do we warm up the bananas?

In all honesty, I'm not sure...there is such a logjam on the DL recruits that it is too clustered up to make a solid prediction. I don't want to call Solomon a plan B guy, but I know there are others on the board as well.
