DE Omari Abor (transfer to SMU)

I'm pretty sure at this point he already has a spot locked for OSU there kinda like Touimolou had last year. 2023 guys I get it. 22 amonth before signing day. Make a decision when you know unless well you're getting paid to make a decision early.

That doesn't put as much pressure on the other schools to up the NIL offers.

shew this is harsh. Unrestriced Free Agency for high school and young college kids.

I'm trying not to hate it, but I'm an old curmudgeon and I do. Remember when we could just get excited about a commitment? In all seriousness, perhaps this is a true commitment and we're just being cynical. So I will say boom and welcome his commitment, but not an all-caps BOOM quite yet.

Bro, you've been following recruiting for too long, to think that a commitment was ever just a COMMITMENT. Kids have been playing games for years and keeping us glued to the keyboards(i.e. Terrelle Pryor, Mike Mitchell, Zach Harrison, JTT, Tyjon Lindsey, Torrance Gibson, etc). Most of our best players we've had to recruit until the end, and worried about flips. Even the quiet ones like Harrison and JTT still kept us nervous until they signed, and had people noting whenever the kid's family's mentioned going out of town. Ever since recruiting has become a business as big as the games themselves, fans have had to worry because we're dealing with following teenage boys make the biggest decision of their lives

Haha well I understand that, but with NIL it's gotten even worse. Adds yet another degree of complexity to the equation. I would not be concerned with this commitment before NIL even though he could go all Barksdale or Rico McCoy for no money back when that all happened. Hopefully I'm just a raging cynic though because Abor would be a critical piece of this class.

I hear you, but we're only 8 months removed from our coaches wearing Hawaiin shirts and Leis to woo a top recruit, and all were literally following flights to see if he actually made the trip...
In the end we'll be fine, and though NIL has massively changed the CFB landscape, so has the transfer portal. And for all we know, a number of these kids who commit to other programs, can find themselves Buckeyes in another year or 2

I also forgot to mention the fun it was to recruit Latwan Anderson, Marvin Wilson, Darnay Holmes, Deshaun Watson and Dexter Lawrence
