That 9-4 defense Tennessee ran on LSU a couple years back was wildly effective. At least until the flag...

I don't know about 8-3 defenses, but seeing a goalline formation (that is, IF the other team EVER gets into scoring position ) or a 5-2 front is going to be rough on the other team!
