Tbh, with the way we've been recruiting the defensive line I would be a little disappointed if he were to start as a true freshman. Yes, that would mean 1/2 of the equation meant he is a stud, but the other half would be that everyone we've recruited isn't very good.

Over in the Fall Camp thread, his brother was interviewed and called Johnson "the best coach in the country". (The context was defensive line coach.) Hey, it could be worse.

His brother seemed to basically say it was enjoyable to play for Johnson (my words).

I still stand by my assessment of Nick being the best DL in his class, I'm with Robot. Only reason he doesn't get the nod from the "experts" is his size right now...if he was in that 6'5 range he would fall more into that "freak" category they love. Doesn't matter for me, kid is the best all around player for 2016 pound for pound.

If he brings a motor like his brother or John Simon, That's all I need to know. Guys like that just make play after play.

Motor is comparable to Simon, but more of a freak athlete like his brother and he still has time to grow. I think he is a better player right at this stage than his brother (everyone knows how high I was on Joey) but of course he still has two years to develop.

As high as I am on Feder and this is no slight on him, he might get eaten alive by Bosa. 6'9 and adapting to bending the knees at tackle and shuffling the feet could be rough against Bosa, who can bull rush, beat you with a move, or just with plain athleticism off the edge. I'm very intrigued by this matchup though.

I don't see that as a slight, just kind of truthful. One is more raw and still learning to play his position based on injury and PT(Feder). And the other (Bosa) is more polished and a higher rated prospect for a reason. It'll be an interesting back and forth battle, but on paper Bosa may win most of the battles.

Absolutely. And hopefully this battle in the future will only be Monday through Friday :biggrin: And just to make sure, the game is not televised right? I looked and couldn't find it.

Not lining up vs Feder since Feder is not starting but making a huge play for a loss on the second play from scrimmage and serious QB pressure on the next play. Super fast off the ball.
