DE Mike Vrabel (All B1G, All American, Pro Bowl, All Pro, Super Bowl Champion)

Time to go: linebackers Mike Vrabel, Corey Mays and Charlie Anderson, tight end Brad Cottam, fullbacks Mike Cox and Tim Castille, offensive lineman Rudy Niswanger, wide receiver Kevin Curtis and defensive backs Reshard Langford, Travis Daniels and Maurice Leggett.

Vrabel?s leadership skills have been valuable for the Chiefs but at 35, he may be at the end of his career. The Chiefs will be able to replace his on-field production but covering for his considerable locker room presence will be much more difficult. They groomed Andy Studebaker to be Vrabel?s eventual replacement. On the field, this could be a gain for the Chiefs. Studebaker has better pass rush and coverage skills.

Chiefs LB Mike Vrabel Could Be Involved If Players Sue League
by Joel Thorman on Mar 4, 2011

Kansas City Chiefs LB Mike Vrabel is one of nine name plaintiffs in the case the NFLPA is preparing to file against the NFL should the two sides fail to come to an agreement.

If -- and as of now this is now a very big if -- the two sides don't come to an agreement, the union will decertify and file an antitrust lawsuit against the league, according to various reports.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Vrabel will join the following players whose names will be at the top of that lawsuit: Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Logan Mankins, Vincent Jackson, Ben Leber, Brian Robison and Von Miller (Texas A&M LB yet to be drafted).

Anyone remember the Reggie White case in 1993 that got the players free agency? Similar situation here. You put your most popular, recognizable names at the forefront of a lawsuit -- in this case, Manning, Brees and Brady -- and the public, who does not do much (if any) research, will ideally, in the union's eyes, see those names and support the players.

Vrabel is on the NFLPA's executive committee and has been present for multiple days of negotiations at the federal mediator's office in Washington D.C.

Mike Vrabel takes on NFL negotiator
March, 14, 2011
By Bill Williamson

Kansas City Chiefs veteran linebacker Mike Vrabel was part of the labor negotiations last week. He knows what went on in the meetings.

Apparently, he wasn?t on the same page with NFL negotiator Jeff Pash. After the talks broke down Friday, Pash gave a detailed review of what he said the NFLPA turned down. Vrabel wasn?t buying it.

?I thought you were going to come in with the slow clap and someone say, ?The Oscar goes to ? Jeff Pash.? ? He stands up in front of a student body and he?s going to fire up the troops,? Vrabel said in an interview with a Dallas radio station. ?A deal doesn?t get done in small pieces. There are a lot of parts to a collective bargaining agreement and a positive deal. A lot of those things weren?t the case, but even if they were the case, you don?t agree to things in pieces. A deal gets done in its entirety.?

Vrabel said he is hopeful that the lockout won?t extend into the season, but he didn?t give any promises.

?I hope that we don?t miss games and I don?t want it to come to that and I don?t think anyone does,? Vrabel said. ?We just couldn?t get anything done. ? I?d like to think that we?re a little more unified in what we?re able to do and we?re going to take care of those guys that crossed those picket lines back in the day and weren?t able to stand up for the rest of the players.?

Vrabel wants to negotiate directly with owners, only

ESPN conducted a group interview of five members of the NFLPA* Executive Committee, and several of them dropped some fairly interesting nuggets of information.

Our eyebrows raised the highest when Chiefs linebacker Mike Vrabel said that the players are willing to negotiate, but that they don?t want to negotiate with outside counsel Bob Batterman, in-house counsel Jeff Pash, or Commissioner Roger Goodell. ?Our Executive Commitee needs to negotiate with Jerry Jones, Bob Kraft, Jerry Richardson, their Executive Committee,? Vrabel said. ?People that are willing and can agree to a deal. Jeff Pash can?t agree to a deal.?

Mike Vrabel arrested for felony theft in Indiana

Mike Vrabel AP

Two days before he’s due to be in court as a named plaintiff in the Tom Brady antitrust lawsuit, Chiefs linebacker Mike Vrabel had a much different entanglement with the justice system.

The criminal justice system.

Acting on a tip, we contacted the Switzerland County Jail in Vervay, Indiana. Jail Commander James LaPine tells PFT that Vrabel was arrested for theft at the Belterra Casino in Florence, Indiana earlier today.

The charge, under Indiana law, is a Class D felony. LaPine had no information regarding the thing that was allegedly stolen.

In Indiana, theft of anything, regardless of value, is a Class D felony. It carries a sentence of six months to three years in prison.

Vrabel, who also is a member of the NFLPA* Executive Committee, was booked at 5:28 a.m. local time. He was released at 10:39 a.m. after posting $600 bond.

The jail had no further details regarding the specifics of the alleged crime. Also, LaPine declined to provide Vrabel’s date of birth. But LaPine confirmed that the Mike Vrabel who was arrested, booked, and released is the same Mike Vrabel who plays pro football.

Vrabel’s agent, Neil Cornrich, was not immediately available for comment. NFLPA* spokesman George Atallah likewise was unavailable via phone.

Based on the vagueness of these stories and the well-known golf course at Belterra, I've concluded Vrabel was trying to walk off with a golf swing. Certainly he didn't have one when he set foot in the joint. :paranoid:

Why the fuck would I steal Natty? They're like fifty cents a beer!

So anyway, this one time, at an Indiana casino, me and Vrabes (that's what I call him, "Vrabes") were all wasted playing slots and bangin' sluts, and this dude comes out of nowhere like "that's my wife!", and Vrabes was all "well your wife's a slut, brah! lol", but then the dude was all "I'm gonna shoot you m'f'ers!". I looked at Vrabes like "how many Natty's can you carry homeslice?". He was like "pretty sure I can get at least 8". I was like "let's peace up out this biotch!". Then we went to the Waffle House.
