DE Melvin Fellows (official thread)

it was pretty easy to predict that the ESPN game would replace the Army game as the one to watch. Congrats to Melvin.

Didn't take long either. The UA game is only a year old and last year the USAA game in San Antonio blew that one away in terms of talent up and down the rosters, but the shift has definitely occurred in ESPN's favor really quickly. Not many at all going to San Antonio this year it seems, sounds like that game can now be exclusively for Notre Dame commitments

An Illini fan (I don't take him as the type to just spam it up, either) from another forum I post at claims that Fellows and the Illini are still in contact, he goes as far as to say that he thinks that he will end up going to Illinois regardless of the current situation?

Any of the "insiders" heard anything that would lend any validation to that statement?

Illinois made it clear when he decommitted that they were not going to stop recruiting him...and they were still hopeful he would be attending their camp as planned.

I would be very surprised if Fellows was NOT still in contact with a school who promised to continue to contact him.

I would be amazed if he changed his mind again. He had every reason to consider his home school - a school who had not previously offered - after committing to Illinois. Something had changed - he had an offer.

He has no reason to reconsider Illinois now unless something else substantiative changed. What that could be I can't imagine.

Just to play devil's advocate, with Simon already on board and Muldoon and Newsome seeminly in the fold, could this explain the recent DL offers?

BUT, I am with Oh8ch - I'll need more than some post by a Zooker to believe this one.

Maybe....but i wish we had 30 offers to give and accept. We are in on alot of top players. We are certainly "picking and choosing"....
